The Phillips County Sheriff’s Office is seeking motivated and professional candidates for a position on our team as a Patrol Deputy. Our office serves a small, rural agricultural community of 4,530 citizens across a 980 square mile area. Phillips County has two public wildlife properties, including a seasonal lake, and four towns (two of which have their own police departments). In addition to our patrol and public safety mandate, our office is responsible for providing Court Security, Civil Process Service, Wildfire Management, and Prisoner Custody, Booking, Transport to housing jail facilities, and more. A heavy focus for our office rests on community-oriented policing and positive interactions with the public. Candidates must be able to pass a background check, have a valid Colorado Driver’s License, and have or be willing to obtain a valid Colorado P.O.S.T. Certificate. Our office is willing to sponsor candidates through a Colorado P.O.S.T. Academy. Compensation for this position starts at $49,281 annually for a newly P.O.S.T. certified cadet candidate with greater levels of compensation available for experienced lateral candidates.
