Although she started with a larger size, interlocks basically double or more in size during the budding stage, and then just like other types of locs eventually they get more compact, but still remain much thicker than they started.

Two strand twists wouldn’t have worked for her type & she would’ve experienced unraveling & major slippage. This is why consultations are important.
Nothing can replace seeing the hair in person, touching & feeling the texture while putting sample locs in to see which method works.

No matter what you heard about me, one thing I’m gonna do is educate!

If trusting the process was a person!

My client Katrice has truly embraced her own journey!
This makes my heart smile!
Not comparing her hair to anyone else & letting it go through the stages of maturity!
She waited 3 months after reaching out for her consultation!
At the consultation we decided she needed more length for the best results so she got braids & came back 3 months later!
Her install was March of 2022 & she started with 4” of hair! Her 2nd retie she had a whole section of slippage. She discovered her kids had put oil in her water bottle 🤯
We had to reconstruct a whole section!

4-5 months in it started to frizz, which is necessary in the locking process.
A year later we did color! She was patient even with her gray coming in!
Patience is key & she trusted me as her stylist!!!
15 months in her ends were still open & the frizz was out of control but she control trust the process & embraced her journey! Braiding her ends down & getting regular reties. Also we used to help her hair to lock.

2 1/2 years later!!!! Her hair is flourishing! It didn’t happen over night! She trusted the process. She trusted me! She stayed in the journey even when it didn’t look how she thought it should & now she is enjoying the fruit of her labor!

This is what it means to trust the process!!! 😉
