Sitka, Alaska might be the most underrated port on an Alaska cruise — and I went in ready to prove it.

Skipped the $300 ship excursions, figured out the shuttle situation (pro tip: the walk-up line is fine), hit the Sitka National Historical Park, the Alaska Raptor Center for $17, grabbed a smash burger and an Alaskan red ale at The Mean Queen, and came home with a verdict.
