Eid Mubarak everyone! May Allah accept our fasting, prayers, and dua. May this Eid mark the beginning of a better life for all of us. May Allah keep us humble, steadfast, generous, and compassionate. Thank you all for your patience during this month long pause, inshaAllah, I'll continue to post the Hawaii journey here, and many others to come 😁🤲

On the night-time we went out to buy a few last gifts, but we had no idea what to have for dinner, according to the weather forecast we had expected to rain that day, which didn't happen, and it was the day we had the least amount of planned activities, that includes we had nothing planned for food either.

On our walk back home I really wanted to try some seafood Mexican food from Surf & Turf Tacos 🌮🌯, é Mexican cuisine restaurants with several 5 🌟 reviews and multiple recommendations, but unfortunately the line for take out food was blowing outside of the restaurant as we gave it up (but we did ate from it on another day, spoiler alert ⚠️⚠️⚠️ Best food in Hawaii 🤤👍)

And on our way back to the hotel we nearly settled with ordering DoorDash delivery, but I decided to go back to hotel through the back streets, just to see what's going on and if there was anything interesting, and yes we found a hole-in-the-wall mom-and-pop Korean restaurant called Me's Bar-B-Que that caught our attention, and stomachs 😅, we walked right into it and ordered from their seafood menu. Little did we know that we were their last customers for the day, we caught them right by closing time and they made us fresh food, no left overs of the day, fresh food 😎👍

The food was quite delicious, the seafood Korean pancake 🇰🇷🍤🥞 was everyone's favorite from that restaurant, and the portions were very generous. For the plates you get to choose up to 4 side dishes and we got all vegetarian side dishes 😀. A not expected very nice end of day 4. InshaAllah day 5 will be posted soon 😁🤲

And now for one of the biggest spectacular events of this trip is the actual Waikiki Beach sunset 😯😯😯😯 subhanallah this is what I call a formidable memory 😍🌅
Probably out of all beautiful scenery we experienced in Hawaii, the sunset is by far the most remarkable, Ya Allah 🥰 it's unbelievable 😎👍 plenty of more sunset photos coming 👌

We headed back to Waikiki Beach to enjoy the water right up to Maghrib to see the sunset, it was our first Hawaiian rush hour, the freeway was definitely packed 😅 but I still believe we got way worse traffic in California, for some reason it felt familiar 🤣 also driving throughout Waikiki feels similar to driving around Downtown Los Angeles with many one way streets and confusing turns, however even though people don't drive that great, they still behave more politely and relaxed. (I think I spoke about traffic some post in the past too 🤣) anyways I didn't feel nearly the same level of stress as driving in California, that's a fact alhamdulilah 😎👍

Alhamdulilah we tried some of their most popular plates, Fish & Chips, shrimp scampi pasta, and catch of the day fish sandwich 🤤🐟🍟🍝🥪 they have a few options for kids meals which includes one kid's beverage 🧃👍 The food is quite tasty, the fish & chips came. With a delicious tartar sauce, the sandwich was quite tasty, and the pasta keep being my favorite for whatever reason 😋 portions are very reasonable per person, and stuff service was friendly too 😄

A few miles from the stadium we stopped by to have lunch at Uncle's Fish Market & Grill, a seafood restaurant, it was worth going back into that confusing 🥴 freeway again, the restaurant is quite popular with many reviews and recommendations. It follows a marine/fishing life themed environment, and it's great for families with kids, they gave our daughter a coloring sheet and crayons to keep her entertained 👨‍👩‍👧👍which we really appreciated 😁.

In the afternoon we decided to make our way to the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet, the best place to but gifts, souvenirs, and memorabilia for your family and friends🎁. It opens 3 times a week and there is an entrance fee of $1 per person, however here the prices for the same gifts you can buy at the Waikiki area will cost you easily half or even less, for the exactly same stuff, no kidding 😲 (pro tip: here is the place to practice your haggling/bargaining skills because vendors will tell you a "high" price expecting you to haggle, yet if you don't they'll be happy to charge you extra 💸💸💸)

So, coming from California it took me a couple of days getting used to driving in Hawaii, don't do like me and hear this master tip: the freeways exits in Hawaii have a dotted lines - - - - - - - marking the exit's lane to change onto, whereas in California those dotted lines for us means the place where you have your emergency shoulder lane to change a flat tire, etc, so do this, ignore your instincts and change lanes into that dotted line - - - - - - because that's the actual freeway exit 😅😅😅 otherwise like me you'll miss 4 exits until you realize that something is odd 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦🤦🤦🤦 emergency lanes/shoulders in Hawaii that I understood have a solid continous white line marking it —.

That lead us to arrive at the Swap Meet just a few minutes prior they close, we had absolutely no time to take further photos, just spent the few minutes we had buying gifts and at the last second we scored an icy cold sugarcane pressed juice 🥤 alhamdulilah 😁.

Also worth mentioning that finding the right entrance at the stadium 🏟 itself is a bit complicated, absolutely do NOT trust Google maps in Oahu ⚠️⚠️⚠️, all Lyft/Uber rides we took there the drivers use Waze a lot instead. 😎👍

Unfortunately the only photo I took was while driving our way out 😅

On my way back to Waikiki, I stopped by the island's masjid (Muslim Association of Hawaii) which is located in a very nice neighborhood away from the touristy area, as of now if you plan to join the khutba on jummah, you still need to sign up for a spot (which may change with time) spots are released in the masjid's website 1 week ahead of time and they fill up really quickly, unfortunately I wasn't able to attend jummah with the local jamat 😔

Also, please pay attention when parking around becuase this is a residential type of neighborhood, don't block driveways and be nice to the neighbors, a little kindness goes a long way 😁👍

But again sadly on my attempts to pray with the congregation I arrived when the masjid was closed, I guess they open right before the iqama time, calling the phone number will lead you to a message from Ramadhan 2021 subhanallah 😀 but the masjid looks awesome, and the local Muslim community is very welcome, we got tips from several brothers and sisters from the island which made a big difference on our trip, so jazaka Allah khairan 😎👍👍👍

Asalamu Alaikum 😁 and welcome to day 4! Subhanallah time goes by so quickly and it's hard to believe that we were half way through our Hawaii trip 😲 Today we're still all sore from the 2 previous hikings 😂 but I was ready to bring this adventure a notch higher 😎 Meantime my family enjoyed the beach and relaxed, I signed up for ziplining at the North shore. There are several zipline companies to go with, but based on reviews I chose to zipline at CLIMB Works Keana Farms, this zipline adventure takes about 3 hours to complete, guests get to ride on 7 ziplines including the longest zipline of the island (which was currently closed for maintenance).

Three instructors will guide the adventurers through the process of ziplining, they are extremely friendly and informative through the whole program, they will teach you safety instructions, how to zip faster, and how to make poses for your photos. (pro tip: pre-order your photos online and save some money 💸). There are educational talks, and macadamia nuts tasting which you get to crack your own nuts the old fashion way with stones 🪨, you'll get an atv 🛻 ride to the first line, and get to meet some awesome people as well.

Make sure you visit their website for booking, pricing and restrictions, they also run another zipline program at mainland USA as well. They operate rain 🌧️ or shine ☀ so dress for both situations, they may reschedule in case of severe weather and lightning 🌩 storms. The views of Keana Farms don't fall short at all from other ziplines, it's very nice to zipline by the giant wind farm and see the big skydiving airplanes just fly by✈️. 😎👍

(another zipline adventure worth mentioning is at Kualoa Ranch, which isn't as updated as this one, but you get to zipline through the majestic views to the ranch, I was really torn apart choosing just one) 😬

Alhamdulilah we've completed day 3 with a colorful rainbow, it was a day full of physical activities and food exploring. The beaches in the south side of the island tend to have some seashells if you're into collecting, and we couldn't have asked for much more than a colorful way back to the hotel. Insha Allah in the coming days I'll be posting photos of day 4 😎👍
