Over the past two years, Flagman has reached nearly 18,000 students across Hawaiʻi through our responder-led K–12 Education Outreach Program, bringing police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, tow operators, and highway workers into schools to teach life-saving lessons about distracted driving, speeding, impaired driving, Active Passenger responsibility, and Slow Down Move Over laws.

Watching this video honestly gives me so much hope. ❤️
What happened on Maui was truly special. Seeing students fully engaged with first responders and highway workers, and watching communities come together around road safety, is exactly why we started Flagman after our brother Corey Iodice of Iodice Family Transport was struck and killed on the side of a Connecticut roadway on April 22, 2020, while helping a disabled motorist.

Out of unimaginable loss came a mission to help save lives through education, awareness, and prevention.
Today, watching these students connect with the message and seeing first responders and highway workers stand together to educate the next generation reminds me why this work matters so deeply.

I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who continues to believe in what we’re building: the schools, students, first responders, highway workers, and supporters across the country helping us grow this mission one community at a time.

From Oʻahu to Hawaiʻi Island, Maui, Kauaʻi, and Molokaʻi — these road safety messages are reaching families all across the state.

High school students connect with Flagman because the message is real.
Our Grades 9–12 assemblies bring students face-to-face with the people who respond when things go wrong on the road — police officers, firefighters, EMS, tow operators, and highway workers who experience these situations every day.
Students learn what happens at crash scenes, why Slow Down Move Over laws matter, how distracted driving impacts entire families, and how one decision behind the wheel can change lives forever.
The “Active Passenger” message especially resonates with teens. It empowers students to speak up, recognize danger, and help create safer choices among their friends and families before they even become drivers themselves.
By the end of the assembly, students walk away with more than information. They leave with awareness, perspective, and a deeper understanding of the responsibility that comes with being on the road
