FOURTH “MEDIUM OF DEATH” CHARACTER

AH, ha! Have you wondering, eh? It’s true that the three principal actors, Daniel S. Janik, Sakura Kai and Shane Chisum are selected and rehearsing to play John Landa, Kaya Landa and Albert Stroud respectively) in the upcoming film, MEDIUM OF DEATH – https://danielsjanik.com/medium-of-death.php. But actually, there are two more essential characters, and today, JET Progress Productions is pleased to announce that the dark, disheveled chauffeur and general servant, Sandor Reeves, will by played by Daniel S. Janik. Janik is no stranger to playing multiple characters in one film, having successfully done so in the multi-award-winning films WINNOWING and OTOSOTU (On The Other Side Of The Universe). The recipient of 12 international acting awards including BEST Actor, BEST Supporting Actor, and BEST Acting Ensemble, Janik received the invitation to act as Sandor with enthusiasm. “I’ve always been fond of Lon Chaney and son, and am privileged to play such a role in the JET Progress production of MEDIUM OF DEATH.”

In MEDIUM OF DEATH, grief collides with the supernatural when John Landa and wife’s enigmatic confidante, Oniko Oslow, become entangled in a perilous séance of secrets, illusions, and revenge. As spirits rise and motives twist, the line between the living and the dead vanishes, leaving truth as dangerous as belief.

“WHAT DANCE AM I?” RECEIVES NINE INTERNATIONAL FILM AWARDS!

IT’S my pleasure to announce that the JET Progress | Draqual Media film about amateur dance, WHAT DANCE AM I? starring Daniel S. Janik, Sakura Kai and Pam Hoffman just received nine international film awards at the Gully International Film Festival [India]: BEST Short Film; BEST Inspirational Film Story; BEST Social Film; BEST Director; BEST Producers; and Best Ensemble Cast! The Gully awards are in addition to The Kollywood International Film Festival’s BEST International Short and BEST Supporting Actress; The Tamizhagam International Film Festival’s BEST International Short (Special Jury Award) and BEST Actor; AND South Cinematographic Academy Film & Arts’ BEST Musical Short! Isn’t it time YOU saw WHAT DANCE AM I?

It was a truly challenging film for us to make, in that (1) we make human dramas without graphic violence of any kind; (2) while most dance films involve PROFESSIONAL dancers, in ours, meant to honor the millions of AMATEUR partner dancers worldwide, all dances were performed by our cast of keen amateur partner dancers and were filmed live at a performance, or competition. Our biggest directorial challenge was making a professionally filmed work look amateur. JET PROGRESS PUBLISHES FIRST TWO “SCREENPLAY NOVELS”

SEVERAL months ago, after having been asked by a number of ongoing book authors if and when I would restart a book publishing effort in the style of my original one. The answer, after much research and reflection over the past 4 years, is, “No,” at least not in the same style and manner.

During those interim years, I’ve focused my efforts on establishing JET Progress Productions, an independent film production company, producting such multi-award-winning works as WINNOWING, OTOSOTU (On The Other Side Of The Universe), AUDIENCE WITH A VAMPYRE and WHAT DANCE AM I?. Basically, short, impactful, easy-read, humanistic, dramatic works that appeal to today’s busy, but “curious” viewers. Works that rely on drama rather than graphic violence to capture and hold viewer interest.

Having released these admittedly experimental films with success, while we continue work on MEDIUM OF DEATH, I’ve redirected some effort into establishing JET Progress Publications – https://jetprogressproductions.yolasite.com/ – focused on “ScreenPlay Novels” based on the screenplays of successful movies we produce. INTRODUCING SHANE CHISUM AS ARTHUR STROUD IN “MEDIUM OF DEATH”

JOINING co-stars Daniel S. Janik and Sakura Kai is actor Shane Chisum who will play Arthur Straud in the upcoming JET Progress production, MEDIUM OF DEATH. Character Arthur Stroud is the businessman part of a successful 3-person medium act with medium Oniko Oslow and husband-and-assistant Victor Oslow. Arthur is wrongfully accused of killing Victor, and after 10 years in prison, returns home, only to be swept back into the ongoing, intricate and complex occult mystery that now threatens his and several others’ very lives.

Shane is an American actor recognized for his dynamic screen presence and versatile performances in both film and television. Best known for his roles in Finding Kate: Hawaii (2025) and The Tattoo Club: Curse of the Dragon (2015), Chisum combines rugged charisma with emotional depth, often portraying complex characters in action-driven and dramatic storylines. His work reflects a commitment to authenticity and physicality, making him a standout among rising talents in contemporary independent cinema.

INTRODUCING SAKURA KAI AS KAYA LANDA IN MEDIUM OF DEATH

JET Progress Productions has just announced the multi-award-winning actress Sakura Kai to co-star with Daniel S. Janik in the upcoming film MEDIUM OF DEATH. Sakura Kai [STATIC (2021); WINNOWING; OTOSOTU (On The Other Side Of The Universe); AUDIENCE WITH A VAMPYRE; MOCOS the series; WHAT DANCE AM I?]. Sakura who currently holds five international Best Actress and several Best Ensemble awards, will play Kaya Landa, Japanese-American wife of surgeon John Landa. A spiritualist like her mother, she adheres strongly to one of the oldest “religions” in Japan, that of the cult of Amaterasu Omikami.

SAKURA KAI COOKING FRENZY

YES, well, you might already have known about multi-award-winning actress/dancer Sakura Kai’s love of cooking from her clips about “Angelfish Cake,” “‘American as Apple Pie’ Pie,” and “Pizza on Filming Day – Yummm” posted on her ever growing “Actress Life” YouTube channel – https://www.youtube.com/. What you might NOT already know is that Sakura Kai, star of STATIC (2021), WINNOWING, OTOSOTU (On The Other Side Of The Universe), AUDIENCE WITH A VAMPYRE, MOCOS the miniseries, WHAT DANCE AM I? and about to enter filming, MEDIUM OF DEATH, is an avid Japanese-American cook, sublimating the joys and frustrations of acting with intensive, cooking spates.

Today I have it she’s concocting “October Pump-Kin Croquettes,” and I’m busy applying my directorial and cinematic abilities to documenting such. BTW, I’ve already tasted her “Pumpkin-Stuffed Flour Buns” and I can say with Asian-American authority, they are truly out of this world. When Sakura cooks, the world shifts on its axis from eater cheers. What’s special about today’s creation is that the croquettes despite deep-frying, are surprisingly light, hence the “PUMP-Kin” aphorism: Too keep the calories down, exercise today! Dance!

When asked her creative secret, Sakura said, “Use only the best, healthiest, seasonal ingredients and use them many different ways. Every veggie and seafood has its time.” Excellent advice if ever there was such available anymore on social media.
