Joshua Walker is returning to Mānoa as the next head coach of the Rainbow Wahine volleyball program. 🏐🌈

A former UH All-American and national championship-winning assistant coach, Walker comes back to Hawaiʻi after serving as Associate Head Coach at Baylor and helping USA Volleyball earn gold medals at the 2023 and 2026 Pan Am Cups.

Walker becomes just the fourth head coach in program history.

UH Athletics announced a new four-year broadcast partnership with Hawaii News Now that will bring more than 110 UH home sporting events annually to free statewide television beginning July 1, 2026.

The agreement returns UH sports to K5, the longtime home of the Rainbow Warriors and Rainbow Wahine, while expanding access for fans across Hawaiʻi. The partnership also includes national streaming availability through the Mountain West app and the launch of a 24/7 Warrior FAST Channel.

The deal covers all available home football, men's basketball, women's basketball, men's volleyball, and women's volleyball games, along with broadcasts of baseball, softball, and women's soccer.

Homegrown talent returning to the islands. 🤙🏽

Kaiser graduate Kanoa Morisaki is transferring home to join the University of Hawaiʻi baseball program.

The switch-hitting catcher hit 4 home runs and posted a .997 fielding percentage this season at Cal State Bakersfield. Morisaki was also named OIA Player of the Year and earned First Team All-State honors in 2023 while starring at Kaiser.

Hawaiʻi's own Nick Herbig is cashing in. 💰

According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo and ESPN's Adam Schefter, the former Saint Louis School standout has agreed to a four-year, $100 million contract extension with the Pittsburgh Steelers, including $42 million guaranteed.

The Kauaʻi native is coming off a breakout 2025 season in which he recorded 7.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, an interception and a fumble recovery touchdown while posting the NFL's highest pass rush win rate.

'Aiea captured the Cal Ripken 11U Championship with a 6-1 victory over Kauaʻi.

Led by head coach Chase Nakamura, 'Aiea now advances to the Cal Ripken Pacific Southwest Regional in Fallon, Nevada, beginning July 10.

Congratulations to 'Aiea on bringing home the state title and earning the opportunity to represent Hawaiʻi on the regional stage.

: The 2026 Hall of Honor class has officially been announced 🌺

Twelve of Hawai‘i’s top senior student-athletes representing 10 schools across the state were selected for excellence in athletics, academics, character, sportsmanship and community service.

Each inductee will also receive a $2,000 scholarship courtesy of the HHSAA and Enterprise Holdings.

Congratulations to all of this year’s inductees! 🤙🏽
