For decades, Capitol Modern has been a place where Hawaiʻi’s artists and creatives have been celebrated.

Tonight, we’re honored to bring the SlappGood Producer Showcase back to that space.

One of the night’s highlights is our Art-Inspired Round, where each producer selects a piece of artwork from the museum’s Art in Public Places (APP) Collection and creates an original beat inspired by it. It’s a collaboration between visual art and music that celebrates creativity through different mediums.

Mahalo to Capitol Modern & Aly ゆり Ishikuni for continuing to support Hawaiʻi’s creative community.

Peace (Peace586) is a producer and artist who has been making music for decades. He released his first album, Caught in a Land of Time, in 1991 on BAI Records, with distribution through Epic Records.

Over the years, he spent much of his time producing music and working with gospel rap groups and Christian artists, including Crystal Lewis, Scott Blackwell, and Jon Gibson. Today, he creates instrumental hip hop inspired by soul, jazz, and R&B, often adding live keys to his beats.

His latest vinyl release, Peace to the World, was inspired by his travels and love for music from different cultures. No matter the project, his goal stays the same: making music that feels good and brings people together.
