While exploring around Tokyo, I stumbled upon this man fishing in a polluted river, seemingly engulfed by concrete that sprawled all around him.

It got me wondering, what this place would have been like before the mega-city emerged?

Was this river once teeming with life? Did a dense jungle stretch as far as the eye could see? Was the water in this river so clear you could see the bottom?

Well, who knows, but one thing is for sure; this man surely would have had better luck fishing in a time when nature and concrete hadn’t clashed so harshly.

While exploring Tokyo, I stumbled upon this scene of a man fishing in a polluted river, seemingly engulfed by concrete that sprawled all around him.

It got me wondering, what might this place have been like before the mega-city emerged?

Was this river once teeming with life? Did a dense jungle stretch as far as the eye could see? Was the water in this river so clear you could see the bottom?

Well, who knows, but one thing is for sure; this man surely would have had better luck fishing in a time when nature and concrete hadn’t clashed so dramatically.

As a hurricane approached Hawaii, and I decided to head to one of Hawaii’s most photographed beaches, thinking it would be fun to capture the beach’s less-seen stormy side. To our surprise, we ended up with beautiful ‘heavenly’ like conditions, and the best part there was not a single other person there. Here are some of the shots and I managed to get.

Throughout the rest of the rainy season, whenever the weather was its worst, we would head to a beach or hit the trails to capture a different facet of Hawaii. Can’t wait to share more from these adventures soon!

• Stunning morning views of the mighty Mount Rinjani 🇮🇩

Rinjani‘s summit is 12,224 feet (3,726m) tall. I know, it doesn't look that tall in the photo. Well it blew its top off in a massive eruption a long time ago leaving a massive crater in the center.

The eruption was so intense and had so much ash that it is believed to have caused global cooling aka the mini ice age.

Crazy, right? I was kinda mind blown when I was told this.

• Summers in the Pacific Northwest 💫

I can't believe I posted a single photo (insta algo forgive me), but hear me out. This image has been hidden in my camera roll for almost a year, and looking back, I think it’s my favorite from 2022.

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I spent years hearing about the majestic beauty of Mount Rainier, but I never actually visited until last year. Let me tell you, it instantly became one of my favorite places. The towering volcano, the abundance of wildlife, and the vibrant wildflowers—it's an absolute paradise for photographers and nature lovers.

As a PNW native, I've learned to appreciate the 9 months of rain and cold, because those precious 3 months of summer bliss make it all worthwhile. Trust me, it's a region like no other especially in the summer.

So, here's the exciting news:
I'll be heading back home (Washington) in August, and I couldn't be more thrilled to reunite with my family, friends, and embark on more PNW adventures. Get ready for some stunning views and unforgettable moments. Stay tuned! 🫶✨
