Ever heard of a trail with some of the best views of Mākua Valley and no crowds? 👀

📍 Kuaokalā Trail winds along the Waianae Mountains with sweeping valley and coastline views. You can access it from Waianae or the North Shore. Personally, I’ve only done it from Waianae (permit is required, as it’s on the military installation).

You’ve heard of Manoa waterfall but have you heard of Lua’alaea? 💦

It’s an unmarked trail that quietly branches off Manoa trail.

I went during dry season so it was more of a trickle.

Hands down the best beginner hike on O’ahu

📍 Makapu’u Lighthouse | 2.6 mi | 472 ft

Can’t beat these views 😍 Bonus, after the lighthouse, check out the tidepools (the dirt road not far from the parking lot)
