The Riv Cafe makes a dang good Benedict! But they are only served until noon. Fresh hollandaise sauce only lasts so long. Check them out in The Dalles 8 am to 2 pm daily, (Plus dinner is served Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays!) Hours may differ for the holidays.

This Christmas Day, we’re wishing you a very Merry Christmas and keeping Thursday Tidbits simple with just a few notes.

Gorge's Tortes raw vegan strawberry cake layers soft marzipan and refreshing strawberry jello with a silky white chocolate cream, finished with handmade strawberry cones, fragrant rosemary, and dried rosehips. Thoughtful, beautiful, and full of care. Now taking orders for New Year’s Eve — Message directly to order.

From Ferment Brewing Company: For those who like their winter pints bold, roasted, and rooted in PNW hops, Doug the Dark Ale — their take on a Cascadian Dark Ale — is back for the season.

Pearl's Place has its self-serve fruit stand open for the next few weeks, stocked with 3-lb bags of apples and pears, plus canned peaches and pears. The drop box is checked daily, with restocks twice a week — an easy pantry stop if you’re running low.

If You’re Stepping Out Tonight
For those looking to get away for a bit this evening (Christmas Day), KickStand Coffee & Kitchen will be open from 4 pm to 9 pm for drinks and a change of scenery. As always, we recommend checking directly for hours before heading out.

🥧 Double Mountain Brewery & Cidery rolls out a new Pie Alert: The Rudolph — roasted chestnut & arugula pesto, mozzarella, roasted tomatoes, and house-made venison-pork sausage. "It'll go down in history."

🍪 is featuring festive pastries plus cookie box preorders (14 treats!). DM to order. Pickup Tues, Dec 23 (10 AM–1 PM). Open through Dec 23, then closed until March.

🍲 Kimberlys Cauldron (The Cauldron Cafe) is back open (Thurs–Sun, 8–4) and plans to serve on Christmas Day (hours TBD). Warm up with French Onion or Hungarian Mushroom soup.
