🌊 GOOD MORNING, FAYETTEVILLE AREA! THIS IS YOUR URGENT REMINDER! 📢
Tonya's Top Local Alert: If you live in or around Fayetteville, Cumberland County, or downstream along the Cape Fear River, you need to know about the Fuquay-Varina Water Transfer (IBT) Proposal.
This proposal seeks state approval to take 6.17 million gallons of water per day out of our crucial Cape Fear River Basin (via the Sanford Water Treatment Plant) and move it into the Neuse River Basin.
Why does this matter? Simply put, it impacts the long-term sustainability, flow, and quality of the water we depend on right here in our community.
TONIGHT IS YOUR CHANCE TO BE HEARD!
WHAT: Public Meeting/Hearing on the IBT Proposal
WHEN: TODAY, Thursday, December 4th
Sign-in & Speak Registration: 5:30 p.m.
Meeting Begins: 6:00 p.m.
WHERE: Fayetteville Technical Community College (Cumberland Hall Auditorium)
If you have concerns about the health of the Cape Fear River, your voice needs to be in that room! Don't let this decision be made without local input.
Can't make it? You can still submit written comments! (I'll put the email in the comments below.)
