As most who know me can tell you, I am a bit of a weather nerd. It is a hobby I love and follow probably more than I should, and for as long as I can remember. In the past I've helped other weather sites and pages from time to time. I haven't done that in a while and thought; to keep all the weather related maps, pictures and items separate from my personal page, this page would be a good

idea. I am in no way official. What I post on here is information available to anyone online and more or less discussion, not a forecast. Ill leave the forecasting to those who get paid to do so. Feel free to share, but just remember to always follow local weather outlets when dangerous and life-threatening weather may be affecting the area. Thanks for the visit!

So, it's been a while since I've posted on here. And I guess I'll join the party for this storm.

I'm always skeptical of big storm outputs 5 plus days out. But we are now within 4 days of the storm starting. And the models are not letting up.

Here are just a few of the 6z model run outputs.

Keep in mind that the images that say 10 to 1 in the top right corner maybe too low if this happens as it shows. Majority of these models reflect a 13 to 1 up to a 15 to 1 ratio. Which would cause the snowfall totals to be higher. This is why the GFS model has gone crazy the last couple runs.

I'll keep watching the models. But we're looking at possibly the biggest snow storm the area has had in a good while.

Updated hurricane information. The hurricane center designated the possible threat as 92l. New models are trying to present a stronger system affecting the Tampa Bay Metro area. Strength varies from category 2 to category 4. Which of course, take with a grain of salt, as models can and will change.

A look ahead to the weekend, and next week. Other than considerable cloudiness this afternoon through Saturday morning with a slight chance of a shower. The pattern over the next several days is dry and comfortable with temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s now through monday. Next week looks to cool down with high temperatures in the upper 60s to low '70s.

Fall Foliage update for Virginia.

Below are images of foilage levels climatologically speaking over the next month. Generally, Peak color arrives in Central Virginia over the last week of October into the first week of november. This can vary due to certain factors such as drought conditions or oversaturation. Leaf raking season is upon us.

I haven't posted on here in quite a while. You're going to see videos, and posts over the next several days about a possible hurricane threatening the Southeast Coast. As of right now, all major models have the storm as a fish storm. Has it staying north of Puerto Rico and then going out to sea. Bermuda still could be affected. But still too early to tell. We are getting to that time of the year where cold fronts are our friends here in the Mid-Atlantic.
