ZETA CHI The name of this organization is Zeta Chi Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International.

Zeta Chi's purpose is to unite women in a dedicated pursuit of self-fulfillment and meaningful service to others; to bring together people who wish to better themselves and others, to aid the needy and the disabled, to encourage members to discover and develop their unique capabilities, to create a climate of friendship and belonging in which each member can enjoy a satisfying life.

A fun evening of good fellowship, Christmas cheer, fabulous food and a Dirty Santa game was held December 16, 2025, The Studio at Forest Lakes. Much thanks to Shelby Church and the members of Zeta Chi’s social committee for their commitment to a well planned event. Also, thanks to all the cooks for the delicious potluck meal. Lori Blang won the charity fundraiser. Congratulations, Lori! The Dirty Santa game was a big hit as usual, with quite a few steals! If you were unable to attend, you missed a fun evening!

Roberta Hatcher, Treasurer – As of 11/23/25 General Fund $4,546.46, Philanthropic Fund $734.41, St. Jude $93.57, Books $180.64, Grand Total $5,555.08. Doin’ Time Donation

Roberta reminded members Dues in the amount of $125.00 are due in January. You can bring to January meeting or mail to Roberta. You do have the option of paying ½ dues in January in the amount of $62.50.
Jerri Roper/Joyce Frizzell, Arkansas Children’s Hospital – Stuffing party will be Monday, January 26, 2026.
Sharon Turrentine, Awards and Installation – no report
Sharon Turrentine, Blessing Boxes – Photo at the Blessing Box was cancelled due to rain. Tim Looper picked up donations from members. A group photo was taken.
Anne Head, Books/Bags/Buddies – Coni Hall purchased 30 books from the Library. Some of the books at the Library are only 25 cents. Anne Head is working on a grant for books. There are a few book buddies and bags left over.
Brenda Richardson, Care Connection – no report
Peggy Holt, Coats for Kids – Members donated $390.00. On November 20,2025 Peggy Holt, Regenia Bettis, Jackie Posey and Jerri Roper met with the new Guidance Counselor of Langston Elementary School Shana Leggate and delivered the following: 18 Hoodies, 13 Pairs of Shoes, 26 Pairs of Socks, and 2 Fleece Shackets. Ms. Purple took a photo of us with 4 students.
Lynn Woodall, Parliamentarian – no report
Ginger Yates, Publicity – presented a color photo from The Sentinel Record of October Speaker Tina Cooper and Tim Looper with Blessing Boxes donations.
Shelby Church, Social – the Chili Cook Off was a success. Winners were 1st Place Jerri Roper, 2nd Place Anne Head and 3rd Place Lori Cox. Congratulations Sisters! We will attend “She Loves Me” at Pocket Theater December 14th at 2:00 pm. Shelby will be sending an e-mail with further information. Our annual Christmas Party/Potluck will be Tuesday, December 16th at 6:00 pm at The Studio at Forest Lakes. Bring a dish and a $15.00 Dirty Santa gift.
Shelby Church, St. Jude – Doin’ Time will be February 24, 2026.

Shelby Church asked members if we should charge admission for a party to help offset costs. The cost to rent The Studio is only $20.00, but we do need a Fundraiser. Having another No Bake Sale was mentioned.
Ginger Yates announced she will be appointing 3 members for the Nominating Committee in January.

President Ginger Yates called the meeting to order.
We had no guests.
Educational Director Kathy Nichols introduced Tina Cooper, Founder/Director Royal Sanctuary Therapy Farm, Inc. Tina began with “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is the Tree of Life”. Proverbs 13:12. Since 2022, the flood gates have opened. They are located at 222 Kingfisher in Royal, Ar. And they are open Monday-Friday from 9:00-5:00. Their phone number is 501-844-0492. Visitors are welcome.
They can also be found at the Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings with fresh grown vegetables. They have many Volunteers and are having a Fundraising Fish Fry Saturday, December 6th from 11:00-2:00 pm. Tina was most appreciative of our donation to Royal Sanctuary Farm.

Jerri Roper/Joyce Frizzell, Arkansas Children’s Hospital – We will have a Stuffing Party and Lunch Thursday, November 20th at Jerri’s home at 290 Grand Isle at 11:30 am.
Sharon Turrentine, Awards/Installation – no report
Sharon Turrentine, Blessing Boxes – Tim Looper picked up donations. We will meet at the Blessing Box located at 225 Hazel St. for a photo op at 12:15 Monday, November 24th before our regularly scheduled meeting.
Anne Head, Books/Bags/Buddies for Children – We have no funds to purchase books. We need to work on acquiring books for Kindergarten-3rd grades. Coni Hall will help Anne with purchasing books.
Brenda Richardson, Care Connection – no report
Peggy Holt, Coats for Kids – Langston Magnet has a new Guidance Counselor and she advised that the students do not need coats,but would prefer hoodies and shoes. Several members brought items today as well as cash and checks. Peggy and her committee members Regenia Bettis, Jackie Posey, Jerri Roper and Lynn Woodall will purchase more of these items and hopefully deliver to the school in November.

Ginger Yates, Publicity – Ginger sent in a photo of our Blessing Boxes donations to the Sentinel Record, but it has not been printed yet.
Shelby Church, Social Committee – We have $90.00 from the LUAU event because Driftwood Management has not charged us for the clubhouse. Thursday, November 13th we will have a Chili Cookoff at The Studio at Forest Lakes at 6:00 pm. Shelby passed around a sign up sheet as well as a list of items needed. There will be five (5) Chili Cookers: Lori Cox, Joyce Frizzell, Anne Head, Brenda Richardson and Jerri Roper.
Sunday, December 14th we will go to The Pocket Theater at 2:00 pm for “She Loves Me” then have Dinner after the play.
Our annual Christmas Party will be Wednesday, December 17th at 6:00 at The Studio at Forest Lakes. Dirty Santa gifts will be $15.00
Shelby Church, St. Jude – So far there are only four (4) jailbirds signed up.

New Business – November 24th meeting will be at the Library, Room D. No meeting in December. Jackie Posey will arrange a trip to the Royal Sanctuary Farm in the Spring.

The next meeting is November 24th at the Garland County Library, Room D, 1:00pm. Due to the expected heavy rain on Monday, the Blessing Box photo op has been cancelled. It will be rescheduled for another time. We do not have a speaker scheduled. Please remember to bring your Blessing Boxes donations.
