๐ฃ A LITTLE SMALL BUSINESS PSA FROM LATRISHAโS CUSTOM DESIGN ๐๐
I want to say this with love, but I also need to say it as a business owner.
I am a VERY understanding person. I know money is hard-earned, and when you purchase something from me, I want you to be HAPPY with what you receive. I also know that I am human. Sometimes a color may print differently than expected, an image may have an imperfection, or something may get past me.
If I make a mistake, I will own it. ๐ฏ
I will work with you. I will offer to fix it when possible. I will communicate with you. And when appropriate, I will issue a refund.
But please understand something from the small-business side, too.
This weekend I received an order for two custom tumblers. The order was completed and delivered. After delivery, I specifically asked how everything looked and was told that they looked good, with one concern mentioned about an area of one of the images.
The following morning, I was contacted again and told there were additional problems with the tumblers.
Okay. That happens. Sometimes you notice something later that you didn't notice at first. I can understand that.
What bothered me was learning that both tumblers had already been thrown away.
Yโallโฆ ๐
Those weren't just two cups to me.
That was inventory I purchased.
That was ink.
That was sublimation paper.
That was my equipment.
That was electricity.
That was my TIME.
That was my WORK.
And most importantly, I wasn't even given the opportunity to inspect the products or correct the problem before they were discarded.
I even offered to REMAKE the tumblers, and that option was declined. I ultimately issued the full $40 refund because I stand behind my business and I want to treat my customers fairly.
But here's what I need everyone to understand going forward:
๐ PLEASE DO NOT THROW AWAY A CUSTOM ITEM IF YOU ARE REQUESTING A REFUND OR REPLACEMENT.
If there is a problem, contact me.
Take pictures.
Send me the pictures.
Let me see what's wrong.
Give me an opportunity to fix it.
And please, if I ask you at delivery whether everything looks good, LOOK IT OVER carefully before telling me that you're satisfied.
This isn't about bashing anybody, and I will NEVER put a customer's name on Facebook over a business disagreement. That's not how I operate.
This is simply about setting a boundary in my business.
I LOVE helping people. Sometimes I work with people on prices, deadlines, designs, payments, and situations because that's the kind of person I am.
But please don't mistake my kindness for an opportunity to take advantage of me.
Small-business owners work incredibly hard. When something goes wrong, give us the opportunity to make it right before deciding our work belongs in the trash.
I appreciate every single person who supports Latrishaโs Custom Design. ๐๐
And I will continue doing everything I can to give you work I'm proud to put my name on.
Just remember:
Give small businesses graceโbut also give us the opportunity to FIX IT. ๐
