vehicle swallowed by the ditch, it happens.
I said asphalt when it was really just a gravel road. Now that I had time to rewatch the video I was thinking I very well could have made it out without a tug or tow truck, even logs. I could have dug out the side of the roadway with the gravel and dirt, making a ramp for the right side of the vehicle. I wasn't really thinking about that at the time. The log idea would work too, but it would take some work. In the vehicle I also had some 2x6 boards, 2x4s I could have used as well. Easier and faster with a tug from an F250 though, thanks Joe from Traprock valley.
If you get stuck in the snow, stop and think about things, it pays to be prepared, I was to a certain extent with a kinetic rope, shackles, d-ring hitch adapter, shovel, bucket of sand, and my knowledge and experience of winter driving. Without another vehicle some of that stuff is useless, don't panic and if you need to call a wrecker and be prepared to sit awhile in the cold, snow, and winds of the winter.

Storm systems moving through this week could drop another 6-10inches in the Copper Country/Keweenaw and parts of the South eastern portions of the UP. U.P. Snow Totals funintheup.com

Snow totals are falling behind last year, only 27.6” so far and last year at this time there was 39.5” as of Dec 1st. Calumet/Tamarack loc weather station.
Dont worry folks it will be another snowy year, but be prepared for a colder year as well. NWS Marquette had its 3rd snowiest year to start up to the end of Nov, currently 48.8”. MWS Marquette weather station averages about 169 inches a season.

Snow is adding up, roughly about what we had last year at this time.Snowmibile trails, snowshoe trails, cross country ski trails are all covered in down trees and broken branches from the heavy wet snow and high winds last week. Be patient as crews clear these trails.

First accumulation last night with only 0.2” measured for the Calumet/Tamarack loc weather station. Last year 331.6 inches.
