Women’s History Month - March 1st – Charlene White – I cant start this special month without first honoring my Mom. A woman, from whom I’ve gained my greatest source of inspiration, confidence and joy. I’ve admired my Mother my entire life, but I’ve never been more proud of her than when she became a Chicago Public School educator. At the tender age of 49 she completed her BA from DePaul University, and began a second career in education at the ripe age of 51. My Mom shines brightly in the classroom, and especially uses her gift of compassion with her special needs/diverse learning children everyday. She is the consummate example of a Special Education Classroom Assistant (SECA) and a mother. She believes and sees your full potential, she lifts you up when you down, and pulls you forward when you are tired. I am blessed to call her my Mom and her school is blessed by her presence. Mommy, thank you for being a positive example for women now and generations of women in the future.
