Toll Brothers to Bring Luxury Active-Adult Living to Sienna

A new luxury active adult neighborhood is coming to Sienna, one of the nation’s top-selling master-planned communities located in Missouri City.

Luxury home builder Toll Brothers is behind Regency at Sienna, a new active adult neighborhood that will provide luxury living for adults ages 55 and older. This will be Sienna’s first area focused exclusively on active adults.

Regency at Sienna is estimated to open in 2026.

Toll Brothers’ Regency communities are designed for adults with active lifestyles through a robust social event calendar, resort-style amenities and activities that foster connection with neighbors.

“We are excited to bring our Regency home designs to the Houston area, offering home shoppers age 55 and over an unparalleled opportunity to enjoy an active lifestyle in this beautiful, amenity-rich community,” said Brian Murray, Division President of Toll Brothers in Houston. “The Toll Brothers Regency homes offered in Sienna will feature the perfect mix of luxury and lifestyle, with stunning new single-level home designs and endless opportunities to enjoy life in the beautiful master-planned community of Sienna.”

The new active adult section in Sienna will feature more than 300 single-family homesites, including 50-, 60- and 70-foot lots. The homes are designed specifically for adults over age 55 with convenient single-level floor plans and various aging-in-place features. Regency at Sienna will also include a private amenity center built exclusively for its residents.

Regency residents will also have access to Sienna’s extensive amenities, which include miles of trails, parks, the Sawmill Lake Club, water parks, pickleball and tennis courts, a 160-acre sports complex, and more.

“We are excited to have Toll Brothers continue their Houston-area expansion of their exceptional program for active adults here in Sienna, rounding out our offerings to prospective home buyers,” said Alvin San Miguel, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Sienna. “Sienna is meant to be a place where people can buy their first home and move up or down as life’s changes demand. The addition of an active-adult neighborhood helps us fulfill that vision.”

Sienna is a 10,800-acre master-planned community in Fort Bend County developed by Johnson Development.

Houston Methodist Sugar Land Emergency Department Recognized for Excellence

Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award Recipients Announced

Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital’s emergency department has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award, which recognizes leadership, practice, education and advocacy that resulted in improved patient care and staff well-being.

“These recipients demonstrate excellence in practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovation that make their departments exceptional places for patients receiving care as well as for the staff working in them,” said ENA President Ryan Oglesby, PhD, MHA, RN, CEN, CFRN, NEA-BC. Fewer than 100 emergency departments were selected this year.

“This recognition is a testament to the extraordinary work, innovation and collaboration of our emergency department team,” said Sarah Fleming, Chief Nursing Officer for Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. “Our staff consistently rises to meet challenges with solutions that strengthen patient safety, improve care efficiency and foster teamwork across departments. I’m incredibly proud of their commitment to excellence.”

As part of its award-winning initiatives, Houston Methodist Sugar Land’s emergency department collaborated with the obstetric team to enhance patient care by streamlining protocols, improving technologies, and implementing new tools that reduced wait times and complications for patients. Additionally, the emergency department led a multidisciplinary effort to resolve a critical IV pump shortage last year, launching a centralized inventory system that increased equipment availability by 260% and significantly improved patient safety and staff efficiency.

Houston Methodist Sugar Land’s Lantern Award will be on display in the emergency department. As a recipient, Houston Methodist Sugar Land will be recognized in upcoming ENA publications, on the ENA website and during Emergency Nursing 2025, the association’s annual conference in New Orleans, Sept. 17-20.

For more information on this year’s Lantern Award recipients, visit the Emergency Nurses Association website.

GEORGE MEMORIAL LIBRARY TO LAUNCH FREE
“TEACHER IN THE LIBRARY” HOMEWORK-HELP PROGRAM

Starting September 2, Fort Bend County Libraries will offer a “Teacher in the Library” free homework-help service at George Memorial Library, located at 1001 Golfview in Richmond.

The Kick-Off Party for this new program will take place on Saturday, August 16, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library.

Fort Bend County Judge KP George will be joined by Library Director Roosevelt Weeks in kicking off the festivities with opening remarks at 2:30 pm.

Families will have an opportunity to meet the teachers and enjoy refreshments, giveaways, and fun! They may even have a chance to meet and take photos with the program’s mascot – Artemis “Artie” the Owl!

Craft and STEM activity stations will be set up for children to enjoy in the Youth Services department. Children will also have an opportunity to hear stories during a special Story Time in the Children’s Corner of the department.

Refreshments for the event are generously provided by the Office of Judge KP George.

The Teacher in the Library service provides FREE homework help for students in grades 3 through 6 by providing access to qualified teachers in the library for after-school assistance.

Two teachers will be available Monday through Thursday, from 3 to 6 pm, beginning September 2, at George Memorial Library to help students:complete homework assignments; prepare for tests; improve study habits; learn about library databases & electronic resources; and grow in confidence.

The goal of the program is to supplement and reinforce the lessons being learned in the classroom and to increase students’ self-confidence and motivate them to succeed. Students receive one-on-one attention from experienced teachers in a safe, comfortable environment.

Appointments are not required. Students may arrive anytime during the tutoring sessions on any day the service is offered, as their schedules permit or as homework needs arise. They can choose to attend as often or as little as needed. There is no cost to participate.

Bottled water and snacks will be available at the sessions, courtesy of the Friends of the George Memorial Library.

George Memorial Library is the third library in the Fort Bend County library system to offer the Teacher in the Library program. The service was launched in 2023 with a pilot program at the Mission Bend Branch Library. In 2024, the program was expanded to include the Missouri City Branch Library.

For more information, see the Fort Bend County Libraries website (www.fortbendlibraries.gov) or call the library system’s Communications Office (281-633-4734) or George Memorial Library (281-342-4455).
