When you recognize that your spouse ultimately belongs to God, you shift how you approach your relationship. Instead of viewing them as someone you own or control, you begin to see them as someone entrusted to you by God—someone to honor, respect, and cherish.

This perspective brings humility, reminding us that we are not the center of the relationship but rather stewards of God’s creation, called to love our spouse in a way that reflects God’s own love.

Loving with this mindset means treating our spouse not just with affection but with reverence. It challenges us to care for them selflessly, to listen, forgive, support, and serve—not out of obligation, but out of obedience to God.

It means protecting their heart, encouraging their growth, and praying for them regularly, knowing they are deeply loved by God first.

This kind of love is not possessive or conditional—it is sacrificial, intentional, and rooted in faith.

When you and your spouse are aligned, the burdens don’t disappear, but they feel lighter. Why? Because you're not dragging against each other, you’re moving forward side by side.

Marriage isn't about one person pulling the other along. It’s about being equally yoked in Christ. If the load feels too heavy right now, it might be time to ask: Are we walking in step with each other? And more importantly, are we walking in step with Him?

A good relationship is just two people saying, "Hey, life is hard, but I want to do it with you." That's it. It's not a highlight reel. It's not always romantic dinners or grand gestures. Sometimes it's folding laundry together and sending each other memes when words feel like too much. Love isn't always loud. Sometimes it's just choosing each other again and again.

Someone's effort is a reflection of their interest in you, don't forget that.

You shouldn't call yourself an empath and unconsciously accept it as part of your identity. Just like you wouldn't call yourself a maniac just because you possess an excitable and vibrant streak. Instead, just say you're a compassionate person who is on a journey of learning how to manage the weaknesses that come with that trait.
That's more accurate and less insidious.

In a world full of criticism and comparison, your spouse needs your voice to build them up.

Be the loudest and most consistent voice of affirmation in your spouse’s life. Your encouragement should constantly remind them that they are deeply loved—not for their perfection, but for who they are to you.

Don’t assume they already know how much you admire them. Say it and say it often. And say it loud enough to drown out every voice that would tell them otherwise.

From the bottom of my heart, I pray life gets better for you.
