Lino Suárez Guzmán
Co-founder and Co-creator of MZT Aerospace Park
Alongside partners Víctor García Collado and Luis Carrillo Lostao
A visionary whose leadership is redefining aerospace and advanced industry in Latin America—Mr. Lino Suárez Guzmán, co-founder and co-creator of the MZT Aerospace Park in Mazatlán, Mexico. Together with his partners, Víctor García Collado and Luis Carrillo Lostao, Mr. Suárez Guzmán is transforming an ambitious concept into one of the most strategically positioned and future-ready aerospace platforms in the Western Hemisphere.
The MZT Aerospace Park is Latin America’s first LEED-certified Green Industrial Community, awarded Gold distinction by the U.S. Green Building Council—a milestone not only for Mexico but for sustainable industrial development worldwide. The park's design integrates world-class standards in environmental stewardship, energy efficiency, and industrial functionality, attracting companies at the forefront of aerospace, advanced manufacturing, and high-value logistics.
The project broke ground in 2021, following six years of rigorous planning and design. Phase 1 covers approximately 168 acres, anchored by a private runway of 1.4 to 1.7 miles (2.2 to 2.7 km), capable of supporting flight testing, cargo operations, and future commercial applications. As it expands, the park will grow to over 500 acres in Phase 2, with plans for a third phase exceeding 740 acres, offering unmatched scalability for OEMs, suppliers, and innovation-based industries.
Strategically located near the Pacific Coast port of Mazatlán, the park integrates direct multimodal connectivity: deepwater shipping, interstate highway, freight rail, and air access. It lies along the most efficient transcontinental trade route between Asia and North America, reinforcing its role in the emerging USMCA nearshoring corridor.
Beyond aerospace, the MZT Aerospace Park welcomes projects in technology manufacturing, research, and next-generation logistics, supported by fiber optics, custom infrastructure, training facilities, and smart grid integration.
Under Mr. Suárez Guzmán’s leadership, the park secured agreements with Mexico’s Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC), SENEAM, the Mexican Navy, and Air Force to establish controlled offshore airspace. This allows for experimental flight testing and certification without interference from civilian air traffic or urban zones—a critical differentiator for aircraft development.
The park’s flagship project includes a partnership with Singular Aircraft to produce the Flyox I, the first unmanned amphibious aircraft manufactured under the Mexican flag. The goal is to assemble and deliver over 100 aircraft annually, directly from Mazatlán.
Mr. Suárez Guzmán’s work reflects a broader mission: to elevate Mexico from an aerospace component supplier to a nation capable of designing, manufacturing, and certifying complete aircraft systems. His leadership, foresight, and strategic alliances are positioning Mazatlán and Mexico as a new epicenter of global aerospace advancement congratulation to recive the Award to the first Mexican Aereospace Park 100% Mexican thanks Me. Lino for recive the Award!!
