ABOUT OUR JUDGES:

Raquel Marie Sims was born and raised in the heart of Houston, TX. She’s a top 10% graduate of the award-winning North Shore Senior High School. Succeeding graduation, she got accepted into Southern University and A & M College on a track scholarship. Outside of the track, Raquel was very active in the classroom. She established a great rapport with her department professors and worked hand in hand with her peers. While attending Southern University, she co-hosted the college radio show and received the Broadcast Radio & Television Outstanding Member Award in addition to the Multimedia Capstone Award. During her senior year, she interned at the WAFB News Station in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she worked alongside multiple departments. In the Fall of 2015, she obtained her Bachelors of Science Degree in Mass Communications, graduating as the Student Marshall.
After graduation, Raquel moved back to Houston and hit the ground running in the Mass Communication field. She served as host and co-host on various syndicated platforms, served at the Stafford Municipal Educational TV Station operating as the Producer and Talent. Raquel has a deep passion for Mass Communications and with the help of God, she launched her own company known as La’Marie Media, LLC in 2018.
Her expertise lies within public relations, multimedia, and strategic branding. In addition to her accolades, Raquel works hands-on in the field of creative producing, project management, interviewing, hosting and more. She's a dedicated worker who's full of energy and is the ultimate servant leader. As we look towards the future, Raquel Marie Sims is in pursuit to serve with diligence and be a trailblazer for others to follow.
