I love creeping through the stalls of my local farmer's market and smelling the bl00dy red berries 🩸🍓

🦇 Market Monday 🦇

I know this weekend was tense. I'm so proud of our nation! We hit 3.5%! Please know that pr0t3sting is not the only way to stand up. Shopping local/small and not buying from big corps is another way to stand up. Every little action counts for the people and the planet.

I think I'm falling for YOU... farmer's market

Here's this week's farmer's market haul plus a few photos from this amazing week.

Saturday- Volunteeres planting trees with .htx at 🌳
Sunday - Worked with and shopped for the Rooted HTX community sunset picnic (I wish I would've got more photos of the spread 🙃)
Wednesday - Took a walk around and saw the installation 🐘

Fun fact: Cows & elephants are 2 of my fave animals 🖤

I HIGHLY recommend everyone tagged here but my fave new thing this week WAS the vegan truffle "cheese" from that is not pictured because I ate it all, washed the jar and added it to my growing collection 🫣

🎶 It's just another Market Monday 🎶

I want to start a new series where I post my "haul" from the farmer's market every week!
Here are some of the things I got over the last few months.

My hope for this series is to encourage you to shop local and shop small, starting with your local farmer's markets. Let's make this a trend! Post your farmer's market hauls and tag me! Don't forget about the amazing artisans! I want to see all the yummy and cool things 🖤

🦇 STIMULATE LOCAL ECONOMIES
Farmers selling locally create 13 full-time jobs per $1 million in revenue earned. Those not selling locally create only 3.

🦇 PRESERVE FARMLAND & RURAL LIVELIHOODS
The U.S. loses an acre of farmland a minute to development.

🦇 INCREASE ACCESS TO FRESH FOOD
60% of farmers market shoppers in low-income neighborhoods say that their market had better prices than the grocery store.

🦇 SUPPORT HEALTHY COMMUNITIES
People who shop at farmers markets have 15-20 social interactions per visit. They would have only 1-2 per visit to the grocery store.
