Another highlight we have been thinking about is how consumerism affects trends, a simple concept quickly become trendy with trend chasers.
Although this started earlier, last year, we saw people roughing up brand new luxury bags to get the immediate distressed look; chasing the “Jane Birkin” effect. But we all know Jane Birkin’s bags were like so because she did not baby them.
Now, luxury brands are putting crumpled bags on the runway and some are in stores..
Honestly? Not sure what to think...
I share the sentiment that Patina should be earned, inherited, or better still, bought pre-loved especially if you are lucky enough to know the history, and story behind the piece just like ’s story.
