No one likes traveling during the holidays. Flights are expensive, the airport is stressful, and there's a line practically everywhere you go.

Maybe that's why so many of us find refuge listening to music or sipping a strong drink at the airport bar. And if you've ever visited Nashville International Airport, you can often get both without putting on a pair of noise-canceling headphones.

But it's not too often that a legitimate A-list country star will perform for Music City travelers. Yet, those hanging out at the Acme Feed and Seed's airport location got to see Darius Rucker perform live and in person.

It's not unusual for up-and-coming artists to serenade airport visitors. But earlier this holiday week, a local performer named Sarina-Joi was playing when someone wearing a cap and a T-shirt asked her if she could borrow her blue guitar and play a song.

That someone was Rucker, and Sarina-Joi agreed. He then started to play a cover of Miranda Lambert's "More Like Her." In the video, most travelers seem unaware that the performer is the "Wagon Wheel" artist.

The setting was likely different from what Rucker is used to, given his fame as Hootie and the Blowfish's frontman and his solo career. With his distinctive voice, it's surprising so few people recognized him. It was a special moment for those who did notice.

In October, Rucker announced on Instagram that he was engaged to his partner, content creator and singer-songwriter Emily Deahl.

"Thank you for showing me a level of happiness I have never known," the caption read. "The day I met you I knew I didn't want to go another one without you. Now I don't have to."

No plans have been made for the wedding, but we expect a very relaxed vibe.

Rucker's eventful year doesn't stop there. He also launched his latest project, the supergroup Howl Owl Howl. It's a trio featuring R.E.M.'s Mike Mills and The Black Crowes' Steve Gorman, and it definitely has a '90s rock feel.

"Those guys [Mills and Gorman] were so influential to me growing up. To be in a band with them now is pretty awesome," he says.

Riley Green has become the first artist since Taylor Swift to land back-to-back solo-written No. 1 singles on Billboard Country Airplay chart, marking a rare songwriting milestone in modern country music 🎼

He reached No. 1 with "Don't Mind If I Do", his hit duet with Ella Langley, becoming the first artist in 14 years to achieve the feat since Swift reached No. 1 with "Sparks Fly" and "Ours" in 2011 and 2012.

The single follows the duo's other No. 1 hit, the viral smash "You Look Like You Love Me", which cemented both their places in the modern country music landscape 🌟

Cody Johnson has one rule for choosing the songs he records: They have to sound like he wrote them.

Riley Green and Ella Langley performed “You Look Like You Love Me” together during a recent stop of the Damn Country Music Tour in Jacksonville. Many fans in attendance described the performance as enjoyable and engaging, noting the strong musical connection between the two artists.
The moment stood out for its natural interaction and the way the audience joined in, creating a shared atmosphere focused on the music itself rather than visual spectacle.
