How my birthday afternoon went at the Essence Festival of Culture’s official filmmakers’ mandatory orientation today ❤️

Many filmmakers from across America and the globe were in one space. Approximately one thousand submissions, 104 Official Selections, and my award-winning 3D animation film (WHEN HEARTS TOUCH) + short screenplay (CHANCES ARE) are amongst the 104 to screen and live on stage this weekend 🎉🎈

Btw - One inch heel on today just because it’s my birthday 😍 Tennis shoes on these feet from tomorrow through Sunday for 10k+ steps daily.

WHEN HEARTS TOUCH
(A 3D Animation 40-min Short Film)

There are millions of children and families around the globe that do not have food or enough food to eat on a daily basis. Many suffer and die of poverty, in shame or of heartbrokenness.

When Hearts Touch is a soulful story of a 9-yo orphan boy named Preye, who struggled through poverty, loneliness, and depression, but held on to his inner strength and faith in God to survive. Preye will take you on a journey that will make you pause, ponder, emotional, and definitely appreciate your daily blessings.

It’s the kind of story/film that millions can/will connect with, and is bound to touch hearts, teach and remind especially the younger generations (and us) that there's love in kindness, the need for kindness, and the importance of loving our neighbors as ourselves (literally).

When hearts touch, miracles happen, and lives are changed. Be kind.
