People always assume my son is a girl just because his hair is long; but boys can have long, thick, beautiful hair too! It’s wild how folks try to bully us into cutting it, like his hair somehow threatens their comfort. If his hair were in locs, everyone would call it ‘cool’ or ‘handsome,’ but because it’s loose, thick, and flowing, they assume he’s a girl. Their discomfort isn’t about him at all. Sometimes, people project their own insecurities or jealousy onto what they don’t understand. He wants his hair, and if he ever wants to cut it, I will; but it won’t be because people made us feel like we had to!😎
