HOUSTON ATTORNEY CHARGED WITH FELONY BE******TY AFTER WIFE’S CAMERAS CATCH EVERYTHING

A 56-year-old Houston estate planning attorney has been charged with felony be******ty after his own wife turned him in to police.

Steven Tyler Swain is accused of sexually abusing the family dog, a dog named Shipley, in November of 2025. His wife had installed surveillance cameras inside the home while contractors were doing work there. When she later reviewed the footage, she told investigators she saw her husband on camera with Shipley and said she was quote 100% sure it was him.

She handed the footage over to authorities and removed Shipley from the home to keep the dog safe.

Charges have been filed in the 183rd District Court in Harris County, and an arrest warrant has been issued. As of reporting, Swain is not in custody.

Under Texas Penal Code Section 21.09, be******ty is classified as a state jail felony, which carries a sentence of 180 days to two years.

Heartbreaking Photo Shows Girl with Kidnapper Moments Before Her Murder.

A former FedEx delivery driver surprised a Tarrant County courtroom Tuesday when he pleaded guilty to killing 7-year-old Athena Strand, cutting short what was set to be an emotional capital murder trial.

Tanner Horner admitted to capital murder of a child under 10 and aggravated kidnapping right as opening statements were about to start earlier today. Judge George Gallagher accepted the plea, and the case jumped straight to the sentencing phase. A jury will now weigh whether Horner gets the death penalty or life in prison without parole, according to multiple news outlets covering the proceeding.

The case goes back to November 30, 2022, in Paradise, Texas. Horner was dropping off a package, a Christmas gift with Barbie dolls, at the Strand family home when he accidentally backed his delivery truck into the little girl. Investigators say he panicked, thinking she wasn’t badly hurt but fearing she would tell her dad. He put her in his van and strangled her. Digital tracking from his route helped authorities locate him the same day. Athena’s body turned up two days later in the Trinity River at BoBo Crossing, about nine miles from her house.

Horner had pleaded not guilty after his February 2023 indictment. Wise County District Attorney James Stainton had said he would seek the death penalty. With the guilty plea now on record, prosecutors began laying out evidence Tuesday, including testimony from Athena’s teacher Lindsey Thompson, who called the girl a “true gem” who loved drawing and always spoke her mind, and from stepmother Ashley Strand, who described the frantic search the night she went missing.

Defense lawyers highlighted Horner’s autism, mental health struggles, and tough family background, including exposure to high lead levels, as reasons he should get life without parole instead of death. The judge called a short recess after the plea, and the trial resumes Wednesday for more witnesses in the punishment phase. ゚

Texas Dad Loses 3 Limbs and Hand After Routine Dental Visit Leads to Sepsis

A Texas father of two went to the dentist for a routine checkup. Less than a month later, he had lost three limbs and his hand.

Davon Vanterpool, 34, of Denton County, Texas, visited his dentist on December 29 for a regular exam. When the dentist worked on his gums, they became severely inflamed and began to bleed. His partner, Alicia Wilder, 31, says that opened a door for bacteria to enter his blood.

Wilder left to run errands. Forty-five minutes after she returned home, Vanterpool had collapsed. “He was shaking and shivering uncontrollably,” Wilder said. “He said, ‘I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I’m so cold and I can’t stop shaking.’” He was also vomiting and had diarrhea.

At the hospital, doctors found he was in septic shock — a deadly reaction when infection spreads into the blood. His heart stopped twice. He was put on a ventilator and placed in a medically induced coma. Doctors also found he had developed purpura fulminans, a rare condition that causes skin and muscle tissue to die.

“His hands turned black and hard,” Wilder said. When doctors tried to remove the dead tissue, it triggered a second round of septic shock.

On January 23, surgeons removed Vanterpool’s entire right leg, his left leg below the knee, his right hand, and his left forearm to save his life.

“I was literally forced to allow the amputation to save his life,” Wilder said. “I was shocked and terrified.”

Vanterpool, described by family as a “gentle giant” standing 6 feet 8 inches tall, has since improved in speech therapy. A GoFundMe has been started to help cover his medical care and housing.
