"Our podcast holds a core belief: Go where you’re celebrated, not just tolerated. To those friends and family members who chose to support a convicted felon endorsed by extremist groups like the K*K, I ask—what did you think that vote would mean for the marginalized? Did you think it would celebrate us, make our lives easier, or help us feel valued? Did you think that choosing a candidate openly working to dismantle hard-won rights—like marriage equality and protections for LGBTQ+ people—was something we could simply 'agree to disagree' on?
This isn’t about minor policy differences. It’s about fundamental beliefs, where your 'vote' becomes a real threat to my right to live freely and equally. Yes, I’ve heard the cheers from his followers, proud to remind us of his agenda to undermine our rights. I cannot accept 'disagreement' when your vote promotes homophobia, sexism, and intolerance. We don’t have a difference of opinion—we have a deep divide in morals, values, and respect for each other’s humanity.
And here’s where the paradox of tolerance comes in: a society that tolerates the intolerant risks eroding decency itself. By tolerating those who actively seek to oppress, we inadvertently allow them to dismantle the freedoms we cherish. True tolerance doesn’t mean passively allowing harm; it means drawing the line when tolerance becomes a pathway to injustice.
I’ll come around in time, because I know better than to let division fester. But know that while you may see this as politics, I experience it as survival. I need time for self-preservation, time to protect my peace in a world where love and support should be universal, not conditional."
