Let's assume Oluwo is right. Is Kabiyesi Ooni too small to gbesele iyawo Oluwo ni? Even if Ooni chose Oluwo's mother, do you think Obaloran the ancestor of Oluwo won't rush to Enuwa palace with the woman's luggage? 😆

Oluwo's Actions Raise Serious Legal Concerns: Treason, Sedition, Espionage, and Incitement Against Nigeria in Saudi Arabia

Oba Akanbi AbdulRasheed Olawale, the Oluwo of Iwoland, a traditional authority, has openly criticized the cultural and traditional framework of his kingdom. His actions have led to the dissemination of falsehoods about Nigeria, potentially inciting Saudi Arabia against the nation and its President. Such conduct warrants serious legal scrutiny under several charges:

1. Treason: This is the gravest charge, implicating a betrayal of the state and the cultural institution he represents. A leader’s alignment against national interests constitutes a profound violation of his oath and responsibilities.

2. Sedition: Oluwo's actions can be classified as an incitement to rebellion against the Nigerian state. By misleading a foreign power, the intention to destabilize the government is apparent, warranting sedition charges.

3. Espionage: The misleading statements involve the unauthorized sharing of sensitive cultural and traditional information with a foreign government. This breach of trust and dissemination of confidential information raises grounds for espionage charges.

4. Incitement: Through his influence, Oluwo has fostered internal discord by propagating inaccuracies regarding Nigerian culture and governance. His actions are conducive to incitement charges.

At this juncture, it is imperative for state security and the Osun State government to initiate a comprehensive investigation into Oluwo and his associates during their engagement with Saudi Arabia. His purported exploitation of religious affiliations to deceive Saudi nationals, coupled with efforts to undermine the perceptions of Muslims within Nigeria, calls into question the loyalty of influential figures promoting personal agendas that jeopardize national integrity.

The Betrayal of Tìmì Agbàlé Olófà Iná

Bí ẹni bá fi àṣírí ṣe ògùn, àṣírí ni yóò tú.
(He who turns secrets into medicine will be destroyed by the spilling of secrets.)

Ṣàngó, Aláàfin Tella-Òkò, the king with fire in his mouth,
the one who made his palace tremble with thunder,
looked upon his warriors with fear.

Gbonka, the lion of Ìwóyè,
whose footsteps made the earth shake.

Tìmì Agbàlé Olófà Iná,
whose arrows burned like lightning in the dark night.

Ṣàngó said: “These men are too great.
If I sleep, will they not overthrow me?
If I turn my back, will they not seize my crown?”

So he whispered poison into Tìmì’s ear:
“Strike Gbonka for me,
prove your loyalty,
and I shall reward you with gold.”

But Tìmì, child of honor, said:
“The fire in my arrows does not strike a friend.
The warrior’s path is not paved with betrayal.”

And when Gbonka heard of Ṣàngó’s plot,
his heart turned to stone,
his eyes turned to thunder.

The two warriors saw the king’s trick,
and they withdrew their loyalty.
No longer did they guard his palace,
no longer did they shield his crown.

So when Ṣàngó stood alone,
his medicine turned against him,
his fire burned his own house,
his power swallowed him whole.

Ìbànújẹ kò pa Ṣàngó,
àìní ìtẹ́lọ́rùn ló pa á.
(It was not sorrow that killed Ṣàngó,
but the hunger of insecurity.)

And Tìmì Agbàlé Olófà Iná returned to Èdè,
his honor unbroken,
his name carried by the fire of his arrows.

Moral:
• Power without trust collapses.
• Betrayal poisons the hand that gives it.
• True warriors do not fight with deceit—they fight with honor.

The Olugbon Royal Family has officially distanced itself from a statement made by Francis Olusola Alao, who claimed that Oyo is their source.

The Olugbon Orisafayo Royal Family, along with other royal families, firmly rejects the remarks made by Oba Francis Olusola Alao, who self-claims the title of Olugbon of Orile-Igbon. Alao stated, "Oriru ti awa re o," meaning "Oyo is our source." The royal families have condemned Alao's comments for fostering significant discord within Yorubaland and attempting to alter the history of the region. This has resulted in disputes among the supporters of two prominent Obas, escalating tensions on social media and in newspapers.

Furthermore, they reference an existing court injunction—Suit No. HOI/14/2017—that prohibits Alao from identifying himself as Olugbon while legal proceedings concerning his appointment are still ongoing. The royal families argue that Alao's appointment was politically motivated. They urge the public and the Ooni of Ife to overlook and forgive the self-proclaimed Olugbon of Orile-Igbon for the imprudent statement made by Francis Olusola Alao. While they affirm their positive relationship with Oyo, they clarify that their true origin is from Ile-Ife, emphasizing, "Ile Ife, our source, ko ni baje o."

Oyo Original Crowns: One with the Fulani, Another in the UK, and the Ade Aladikun!

In 1835, Oyo-Ile was conquered by the Fulani, resulting in the loss of land and the traditional crown of Oyo, along with the capture of their king, Alaafin Oluewu. Both Alaafin Oluewu and his elder son died in the Eleduwe War, also known as the Battle of Oyo/Ilorin. The Fulani took both the king's head and the crown with them; thus, the first crown was taken from Oyo.

Furthermore, during the colonial period in 1895, the British acquired the Ade-Sango crown, which some view as an act of usurpation. In an effort to gain favor from the British, Oyo negotiated the right to be the sole seller of slaves in Yorubaland during the transatlantic slave trade. They bargained with Ade-Sango, and the British accepted the crown as collateral, leading to the forfeiture of Ade-Sango. Alaafin Akeem (Alaafin of Britiko) recently promised to retrieve the crown of Sango from Buckingham Palace or his colonial friends. This historical context explains why many Alaafins do not wear the traditional crown, opting instead for the Fila Abeti-Aja.

Currently, there is no authentic crown within Oyo. The Aladikun crown was not freely given to Alaafin but was taken under extreme pressure, possibly in exchange for peace. The Aladikun lineage maintains that the crown was "collected" from them rather than willingly surrendered.

A friend mentioned that a crown was used during a coronation, to which I responded that Nollywood often uses crowns for movies. Since Akeem is the most recent Alawada Kerikeri, they could borrow one from Odunfa theatre and film group!

Baba Ologundudu has called on all Odua sons to meet in Ile-Ife to discuss acquiring a crown for the Alaafin of Oyo, provided that the Aladikun family crown is returned.

For peace to reign, let the Alaafin return the crown to the Aladikun Family!
