Hello! I wanted to pop in here and say that I’ve decided to permanently close down this account. I plan to lock it and leave the content up by I will not be posting here any longer. A few months ago I made a transition, slowing down posts, and focusing on my personal account. I had planned to only post new episode updates here. But…I don’t even want to do that. The podcast is still going strong, in fact a new episode is out this week. The best way to keep up with podcast happenings is to subscribe to the podcast in whatever app you use and to subscribe to the podcast newsletter over at http://www.thegardenpathpodcast.com or via the link in my profile. I’m very active over at and post several times a week about plants and nature. Join me there if you’d like! I’m just uninterested in self promotion of the podcast and trying to do all-the-things here to be relevant. Just listen to the podcast and let’s keep it simple! Thanks for the support over the years for for the connections I’ve made through this account! See y’all elsewhere online! Thanks! 🐛

Hey garden friends! I’m back from my month off! If you saw my last post I took the month off of the ‘gram mostly to focus on writing a book for Namowrimo, which I accomplished. Er, it’s half a book but I made it to 50k words! I also wanted to reevaluate how I used the app and at first I was thinking of locking this account permanently. I already post plants and nature on my personal account and honestly it’s redundant to be here too. I am also over the hustle of chasing algorithms and “growing your feed”…I want to create and garden, not basically market for a social media company. So, you will see less posts here, mostly focused on updating when new episodes are out and an occasional garden post. If you want more garden and plants I suggest you follow me at for the time being. And no worries if you don’t want to add another account to your feed—I get it! It’s all overwhelming sometimes! But I’m done trying to juggle accounts and produce content and schedule posts and worrying about all of that. You can also just subscribe to the podcast in your favorite service and sign up for my occasional newsletter to stay in contact. Links in my profile. I’ll pop in here from time to time to say hi and check what’s going on but for now, a little less of me showing up in your insta feeds! Happy gardening!

Linda's blog always has something interesting to read!

The plant known as Illinois Bundleflower (Desmanthus illinoensis) derives its common name from its densely packed, somewhat frowzy puffball-like heads. Like the so-called powderpuff plant (Mimosa s…

Yup, it’s that time of year when the leaves fall and gardeners want to tidy them up -- but wait, there are many good reasons for keeping the leaves. Not necessarily all of them or everywhere they fall, but there are plenty of places in your garden where you can . This week’s blog, written by Scott Black, explains more.
