When Tyler was 10 years old, he had a dream where God told him to paint. The next day, Tyler had a second dream where God said he “was going to take this gift from him” if he didn’t start to paint.

But Tyler’s story started before he was born.

Doctors told his mom he had a low chance of survival due to an irregular heart beat. When he was born the medical staff noticed the irregular heart beat was because Tyler had a twin. Tyler’s body was wrapped around his twin brother which prevented doctors from identify the other heart.

Tyler was born 100% deaf and at 6 years old he had surgery to restore 25% of his hearing. This left him with a stutter.

Tyler has been severely bullied and beat-up because of his speech impediment.

In 7th grade, doctors discovered that Tyler had a Vitamin D deficiency, which weakened his bones to the point where they easily broke. This deficiency put him in a wheel chair for two years.

Despite all this adversity, Tyler is changing the world and stepping into his purpose. In the last 5 years he has accomplished so much:

▪️Painted over 300 portraits
▪️His work has been featured at multiple galleries including the Beverly Center in LA
▪️ His portrait of LeBron James made the cover of Time’s magazine
▪️He received a personal call from VP Kamala Harris praising his work
▪️He recently painted in front of thousands in Detroit

And now, Tyler has a new achievement: a book, “We can: portraits of power.”

I got to FaceTime with Tyler on Sunday and was so inspired by his work. I can’t wait to buy his portrait. He’s a reminder that God is real.
