The Jewish studies minor at the University of Houston Jewish Studies program will likely soon disappear, another casualty of a new Texas law targeting low-enrollment academic programs.

But faculty members say the end of the minor will not mean the end of Jewish studies on campus. Instead, they are trying to turn what one professor called “lemons into lemonade.”
