A mix of feelings with the Artemis III crew announcement today, so took me a bit to find the right words. But I am excited for these astronauts, and am happy I at least predicted one correctly!

Does anyone know the last time a NASA/joint International partner crew of 4 or more didn’t have a woman on board? I can only think of 2 or 3 person all male crews from recent years (Soyuz missions, Crew-9 and Demo-2). I didn’t really even think there was a chance it would happen that there wouldn’t be a woman on any new larger missions these days given nearly 40% of NASA astronauts are women.

But I am excited to see the work this crew does and to see what women make it on to Artemis IV!

Congratulations to the crew of Artemis III!!! The crew is: NASA astronauts Randy Bresnik, Frank Rubio, and Andre Douglas, and ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Luca Parmitano. Once again I predicted 1 right. 😂 This crew is made up of some amazing people, and I can’t wait to see them fly. Video coming soon on this crew, as well as individual bios on them all.

Go Artemis III!!!

Happy World Ocean Day! 🌊 It’s been such a joy to spend time on our oceans as part of my job sharing science stories. Whether it was mapping the seafloor in the Pacific or studying our planet’s climate using samples from beneath the seafloor in the North Atlantic, some of the most incredible science moments I’ve witnessed have been surrounded by nothing but water.

Our world is connected to and by these bodies of water. They are crucial for us to understand and protect. Because when our oceans thrive, so do we.

Presenting my picks for the Artemis III crew! There's so many awesome people in the astronaut corps right now that its so hard to pick, but I can't wait for the full reveal on Tuesday.

Check out my reasoning for my choices in my full YouTube video breaking down all the options! https://youtu.be/0Z7ry6lBe48?si=pvKRgAy-LwaM4fjQ

And let me know if the comments who you want to see on Artemis III!

From space plumber to lab technician, astronauts have to serve a lot of roles during their time on the space station! And doing blood draws for themselves and fellows crew members is part of that gig.

Medical problems in space can be scary, but it’s very cool to see issues like this blood clot resolved via telemedicine and what the space station crew had on hand! My favorite part of this story though is that money is actually being dedicated to learning more about this issue! Love to see a problem uncovered and funds dedicated to science to solve it.

Note that I used random pictures of crew members taking ultrasounds and participating in the Fluid Shift study on station. NASA did not reveal the crew member impacted at the time.

What did I do in May working as a full-time science communicator?

🌕 This was another Moon focused month because of Astrolab! I’ve been working with the lunar rover company for more than 2 years now, helping share their story of developing their technologies. In May they were officially selected by NASA to be one of the providers of a rover for the Artemis crews. That meant a lot of work preparing for the announcement on social media. Earlier in the month they also had a big announcement about the NASA payloads that will be on their FLIP rover, so I made a bunch of videos and posts for them about that too.

So so excited for Astrolab on these huge milestones this month, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for them.

🤳 Created 12 short form videos for my personal social media accounts. Continued some videos related to Artemis, but also started phasing in some of my typical topics of the ISS, microgravity research and ocean exploration.

🚀 Went to Space Center Houston film two of the Artemis related videos for my personal accounts

🎤 Moderated a panel on space exploration for the Fulbright program during an event they had for their scholars in Houston

✈️ Negotiated a fun speaking opportunity in January 2027

🌊 I did a lot of small things in prep for my upcoming ocean expedition this month from working on a press release to brainstorming the deliverable I will be providing to the Ocean Exploration Trust from my expedition this time.

🐱 Posted a sponsored video with the cat food brand Sheba.

🎥 A brand I worked with in the past reached out about using a video I made for 90 days of paid usage, so I successfully negotiated that agreement.

🛳️ Planned an activity I’ll be doing for STEM summer camp this year.

🦸‍♀️Did an interview for a fun YouTube channel

🛫 Worked with USA Science and Engineering festival on final adjustments to videos about jobs in STEM that started posting this month.

🎞️ I’ve been talking about making a longform video on the history of space as told through pinball machine art forever. I started setting aside time to work on it again! I’m dedicated to carry this project over the finish line this time.

Meet the Artemis I crew (of mannequins)! These are the brave explorers that collected data for scientists and engineers, and paved the way for humans to fly on board Orion for Artemis II and beyond. Commander Campos and an Astrorad vest are on display at if you want to check them out in person!
