Blue Fame Fashion: She’s been a rockstar in our books for a long time but we’re letting the world know how fabulous the wonderful is ❤️! As the reigning Queen of (SWA) RePurpose With Purpose program (which we are proud partners of) and senior corporate responsibility regional manager at Southwest, Ana’s a champion of sustainability, ethical rights and community impact. Forever grateful to our family for introducing us to Southwest Airlines and Ana ❤️.

Here’s Ana shining bright and beautiful at in her custom made Magpies &Peacocks iconic cocoon dress completely upcycled from SWA’s aircraft leather with her signature glasses. This aircraft leather journeyed an astounding 8,000 flights and traveled 5 million + miles before it landed at our Houston atelier where our MAKR Collective production team turned it into this chic couture piece. Keep shining bright Ana and wearing Fashion As A Force For Good, we love you 😘.

Website Revamp Campaign Sneak PeekPreview: The gang’s all here and it’s absolutely perfect. Interior Design Maven: We are beyond proud of this young lady right here ❤️! Our building mate bestie and Magpies & Peacocks Style Collective member , CEO of recently won a 2025 HIP Commercial Leader: Designer award and we can definitely say this is well deserved. Kelie was also a panelist at this year’s NeoCon show in Chicago at The Mart where the HIP awards ceremony took place.

Here’s one of our fave pictures of Kelie in her element at our McKinney Collective space, chic and fabulously dressed in all upcycled, ethically made , she’s one of our best clients 😍😍😍.

Our Story

As seen on NBC's Emmy Winning Naturally, Danny SEO and Featured in WWD, British Vogue, Vogue Italia and London Runway Magazine for London Fashion Week AW18, Fab UK, Schoen and Daily Mail for London Fashion Week AW19 , Magpies & Peacocks is Houston's and the nation’s exclusive 501(c)3 non-profit design house dedicated to the collection and sustainable reuse of post-consumer clothing, scrap textiles and accessories, to disrupt the cycle of waste in the fashion industry, and educate future designers/artists on sustainability and circularity in design. Working with designers and artists, we create unique up-cycled collections from diverted waste materials, provide a resource library for the creative community, and offer sustainability education. Through collaboration we can build a sustainable future for the industry, promote social responsibility, ethical sourcing and promote circular innovation.

Our model rests on four pillars: Collaborate, Create, Educate and Invest. We build creative connections between local businesses, donors, artists, educators and other non-profits.

Magpies & Peacocks focuses on breaking the cycle of waste in the textile industry by: Recycling and repurposing post-consumer textiles. Providing educational programs for the Arts and Fashion industries that incorporate sustainability, ethics, and leadership programs.
