was industrial metal and groove metal, formed by composer Rob Zombie. The band's name was extracted from the 1932 film White Zombie, starring Béla Lugosi. Created in New York, White Zombie was originally a noise rock band in the same category as Sonic Youth.

He was known for combining metal with remarkable guitar riffs in the song "Super-Charger Heaven" overloaded with lyrics heavily influenced by horror movies and satanic aesthetic. Unlike other metal bands of the 1990 s, White Zombie was almost exclusively a "fantasy band", as they did not write songs about real life, but about supernatural horror fantasies. White Zombie's music is riddled with influences and references to Class B cinema, Roger Corman or Russ Meyer films, comics, science fiction or decadent American culture. Its boom in the mid-1990 s coincided with that of other groups with similar influences, such as Monster Magnet or Marilyn Manson.

The group officially disintegrated in 1998. That same year Rob Zombie their vocalist and founder began his solo career with the release of the album Hellbilly Deluxe.
