There is a Friday morning and weekend closure scheduled for the southbound SH 225 exit ramp on the East Sam Houston Tollway. 🚧

Details:
The ramp closure will begin at 12 a.m. on Friday, June 20, and is scheduled to reopen the same day at 4 a.m. The same exit ramp will close again starting at 10 p.m. on Friday, June 20, through 5 a.m. on Monday, June 23. This closure is necessary for maintenance work being performed by HCTRA contractors.

Detour:
• Traffic on the East Sam Houston Tollway will be detoured to exit at Red Bluff / Pasadena Blvd.
• Traffic will U-turn at Ramsey / San Augustine and proceed on the northbound frontage road to SH 225.

Houston’s forecast remains largely the same: highs in the low 90s with a few, sporadic showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon through the weekend. Next week should see somewhat better rain chances. I also share a tip that helps me survive summer in Houston.

🚨 LOST FOSTER DOG — PLEASE SHARE!

Joe is missing, and his foster family is heartbroken. 💔 They’ve searched for hours, left food and his bed out, and posted everywhere they can, but he’s still out there, scared and alone.

Joe went missing from Heritage Park near Friendswood and was possibly spotted in Autumn Creek, 3-4 miles south.

There will be a weekend closure of the southbound SH 225 exit ramp on the East Sam Houston Tollway beginning Friday, June 13 at 10 p.m. through Monday, June 16 at 5 a.m.

Detour:
•Traffic on the East Sam Houston Tollway will be detoured to exit at the Red Bluff and Pasadena Blvd exit ramp.
•Traffic will U-turn at the Ramsey and San Augustine Intersection and proceed on the northbound frontage road to SH225.
•The two U-turn lanes north of SH225 will also be closed.

•HCTRA contractors will be performing work.

With the most potent rain-making storms now moving offshore, we are returning to a Stage 1 flood alert for the entire Houston region. Heavy rainfall remains possible on Friday, although we don’t expect storms to be quite as organized as they were today.

We have expanded a Stage 2 flood alert to cover the entire region today as a storm system passes through. The greatest likelihood of flooding appears to be to the southwest of Houston, but all areas will be vulnerable this morning.

Our confidence is increasing in the likelihood of heavy rain across the Houston metro area on Thursday morning, perhaps around sunrise or a few hours later. Flash flooding is possible in the strongest storms. We are raising the flood scale alert to Stage 2 for areas west of Interstate 45.
