Society, I welcome you to my world. I created LUXE Leadership & Entrepreneur Society for aspiring women leaders inspired by Black women. It is an amazing sisterhood where knowledge meets sophistication and class. It's a movement of leadership, personal growth, and mental wellness elevation with a hint of glam. Every challenge, every stumble, every victory in my journey has shaped me. I’ve wrestled with the same doubts, celebrated similar milestones, and faced those tough moments just like you might be doing right now. Through it all, I’ve gathered a treasure trove of insights. My past experiences and research fuel my passion to guide you. From working as an assistant to a stock broker to impacting the 4th largest city in the United States as a senior advisor to a mayor, my path wasn’t always clear. But every twist and turn, every setback, was a lesson. And, I want to impart my wisdom from those lessons with you in our holistic leadership & entrepreneur society. Living the LUXE leadership life prepares your mental fortitude for business, entrepreneurship, and winning in your personal life. I bring to you over three decades of experience in corporate and municipal business as well as being a distinguished professor of business technology at a college in my hometown for over a decade. My credentials of expertise are drawn from a doctorate degree in Education-Higher Education and Adult Learning, a master’s degree in Educational Technology Leadership, and a bachelor’s degree in Health Teacher Education from a Carnegie-designated Tier One research university. Also, drawn from my background as a former City Official, Chief of Staff, and Senior Executive and Advisor to a former mayor of a major U.S. city, I want to impart a wealth of knowledge and resources to my members for career, personal, and entrepreneurial success. As added value, my knowledge from the certificate program for Women Entrepreneurs at Cornell University, facilitation certification from Covey Leadership programs, and currently working to become a certified Neurolinguistic (NLP) coach to help others achieve desired outcomes though promoting reflection, confidence, and communication, thus improving overall wellbeing, has helped me curate a dynamic content just for you! I want to talk about something that doesn't get discussed enough in professional spaces.
The invisible tax that high-achieving Black women pay every single day at work.
The tax of being the most qualified person in the room and still having to work twice as hard to be seen half as much.
The tax of shrinking yourself in meetings so your ideas don't make others uncomfortable, and then watching those same ideas get credited to someone else.
The tax of being called "aggressive" for the same behaviour that makes a man "assertive."
Sound familiar? Because it should. Because it's real. And because it is not your fault.
But here's what I know for certain after years of leadership coaching and building LUXE:
The women who break through aren't the ones who worked harder. They're the ones who stopped waiting for permission and started leading from exactly where they stood.

Here's your 3-step strategy for positioning yourself for the C-suite right now:
1.Get crystal clear on your value. Document your wins, your impact, your results. If you can't articulate your value confidently, neither can the people deciding your future.
2.Build strategic visibility. Stop doing great work in silence. Present in meetings. Volunteer for high-visibility projects. Make sure the right people know your name.

One of the biggest shifts on the journey from "That Girl" to "That Woman" is learning that your calm IS your power.

Silence in the right moment. A pause before you respond. Entering a room and letting your presence speak before you do.

That's Zen AF. That's Sanctuary-Centered Leadership.

Too many brilliant women are building on shaky foundations. Let's fix that right now.

1. Your LLC is filed.
Your business needs legal protection. An LLC separates your personal assets from your business, gives you credibility, and opens doors to business banking and funding. If you haven't filed yet, this is your sign.

2. Your EIN (Employer Identification Number) is obtained.
This is your business's social security number. You need it to open a business bank account, apply for credit, and file taxes correctly. It's free to get through the IRS website. No excuses.

3. Your business bank account is open.
Mixing personal and business finances is one of the most costly mistakes new entrepreneurs make. A dedicated business account protects you at tax time, looks professional to clients, and helps you actually SEE your business income.
