Constable Patrick Quincy Brings “Project Lifesaver” to Fort Bend County Precinct 4 to Protect Vulnerable Residents
FORT BEND COUNTY, TX – Fort Bend County Precinct 4 Constable Patrick Quincy is proud to announce the expansion of Project Lifesaver into Precinct 4 contract areas, providing a critical safety net for residents with cognitive conditions who are prone to wandering. This initiative, a partnership with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, offers a proactive solution to help first responders quickly locate and reunite families with their loved ones.
Project Lifesaver is a free program designed specifically for individuals with disabilities such as Autism, Alzheimer’s, dementia, or traumatic brain injuries. Participants are equipped with a wearable, watch-sized radio-frequency transmitter that allows trained emergency teams to track them if they go missing.
"We cannot afford to be reactive when it comes to public safety," said Constable Patrick Quincy. "Every minute matters when a loved one wanders off. I am proud that Precinct 4 is taking this step to bring this life-saving technology to our neighborhoods so more families feel supported and protected".
How Project Lifesaver Works:
* Wearable Technology: Eligible residents receive a free, waterproof bracelet equipped with a unique radio signal.
* Advanced Tracking: First responders use specialized receivers to detect these signals from up to 2 miles away on the ground and up to 8 miles away by air.
* Efficient Recovery: Unlike standard GPS, this radio technology is highly reliable in various terrains, significantly reducing search times from hours or days to minutes.
Constable Quincy, who recently marked his first year in office focusing on "Serving with Purpose," emphasizes that protecting the county's most vulnerable residents is a top priority for his administration.
