Texas Southern University School of Communication journalism major Jonay Seay-Oliver is a digital content creator intern for FOX5 in Atlanta, Ga.

As a digital content creator, Seay-Oliver identifies trending stories in the community. She must always apply the basic tenets of journalism by focusing on timeliness, impact, proximity, prominence, and answering who, what, when, where why, and how.

She writers copy for the station’s website, mobile app, and social media platforms.

Most of her stories are written in what is called the hard news form. This form requires the reporter to answer the most important facts immediately.

This writing form starts with the most important elements and tapers down to the least important elements.

However, Seay-Oliver has proven to be a true professional and the station management is allowing her to go live on its streaming platform with anchors to discuss the trending topics in the community.

Today Seay-Oliver talks about a social media trend that landed 15 people in jail and she also talked the lottery.

Texas Southern University School of Communication journalism major Jonay Seay-Oliver, a digital intern at WAGA-TV in Atlanta, discussed a dangerous social media trend that led to a 15-year-old’s death, according to her family.

Leah Presson of Enid, Oklahoma, died on June 14, 2026, after trying the Benadryl Challenge, which required participants to consume large amounts of the over-the-counter drug, her family said. Overconsumption of the drug allegedly causes hallucinations, according to health experts.

Police are warning parents to keep a close eye on what their children are doing on social media, according to Jonay’s report on the station’s website.
