Mike was fond of collecting metal garden decorations. One day, a long time ago, we came across and artist who created whimsical creatures from recycled metal scrap. There used to be a dancing rabbit, but, alas, it rusted away. The flying pig looks rather pathetic in the light of day, but she maintains her magic in the twilight.

Let them scoff at your ungainly appearance. I will slice you ever so thin with a mandolin, and introduce you to a dressing with Gorgonzola and walnuts. Your essence of pepper and licorice will dance upon my tastebuds. You’ll be the belle of the ball. Cinderella ain’t got nuthin’ on you.

As of 8:45 am here in the Houston area. We’ve had no power since about 5:30 am.

Time for the worst of it. Beryl is quickly losing strength without water to fuel its energy. Sustained winds are only about 65mph with gusts up to 85mph. I positioned what's left of the eye in the crosshairs. The blue dot is me in Pearland. We're lined up for the inner arm, which is the most intense.

Mike is 20 miles away in a hospital at the Houston Medical Center. There’s no safer place for him to be.
