Finally, after 2 1/2 years in this building, I did the parking lot and driveway project. Tony from Step Up Tractor Services did a great job leveling the mess of a yard, and spreading the 21 tons of crushed concrete and 15 tons of limestone gravel. I spent a few days cleaning up the edges, putting in edge stones, pavers, and bricks for parking lines. I also learned that a shop vac can suck gravel out of grass (see before and after pics). It was a lot of work, but now there’s no more scraping coming down the driveway, no more random hill of dirt in the backyard, no more getting stuck in the mud, and no more need to back out of a super skinny driveway. Book your project and park here!

Btw, if you need any yard clearing or tractor services, Tony is the man and is very knowledgeable and reasonably priced. With his help and including his fee, I did this entire job for $3k (mostly materials) when another company quoted me $9k. DM me for his contact info.

"ARGHH! It sounds like a boomy mess!" I've been there, don't feel bad. It took a long time for me to figure out how to make mixes that sounded full but not muddy and cluttered. It's especially hard if you're working on your own project because your perspective is skewed. If you're skeptical, message me and I'll do a sample mix for you of your project!

Can you ever have too many guitars? No, don't be silly! All of the guitars and amplifiers at Beebe Gunn Studio are available for your use during your session. This photo doesn't even include everything that is available, so while you certainly have your main tone dialed in, what about that second guitar part? Imagine the possibilities...

One issue that is often glaring in self produced records is that the drums just don't sound very good. Some of it comes down to performance, but a lot of it comes down to miking techniques, the microphones themselves, and just having the equipment. I've worked very hard developing my technique to get good drum sounds that can easily be manipulated after the fact to fit any recording style. Come record your drums with me and do the rest on your own if you want, you won't regret it!

A large percentage of my clients are songwriters who either don't have a backing band at all or have a rotating cast of players who back them here and there. I have played guitar, bass, and drums in numerous cover and original bands in my career and have extensive experience arranging songs. I also know and work with lots of great musicians in town. I’d like to thank Keith and all the awesome people who work at for sending me a new badge for my M80 stage mic after I broke off the old one. Not only do they make the best mics for stage and studio (and they really do), they’re a small American company with fantastic customer service. The very few times I’ve had any issues with any of their products I’ve easily been able to have direct communication with someone who actually works there, which is so rare these days, and they’re always super helpful. I’ve been using these M80 mics for vocals on stage for over ten years and on the rare occasion I don’t, I’m always disappointed by any other mic. I also use them for drums in my studio and they sound amazing. To all my singer friends, if you plan to invest in your own stage vocal mic, the M80 is the best. Telefunken rules!
