The beloved Australian conservationist and Crocodile Hunter star died on September 4, 2006, at only 44 years old after being struck by a stingray while filming near the Great Barrier Reef.
Two decades later, Steveâs impact continues through the millions of people he inspired to care about animals and conservation.
His wife Terri and children Bindi and Robert have also continued the mission he devoted his life to, keeping his message alive through Australia Zoo, wildlife conservation and their own work with animals.
For so many people who grew up watching him, Steve wasnât simply a television personality. His excitement made wildlife feel fascinating, important and worth protecting.
