The Reality Most Sellers Don’t Hear
Not every Realtor is focused on the best outcome for the seller.
Sometimes an agent becomes more concerned with keeping the deal alive than with protecting your price, terms, and leverage.
I recently worked with a seller who came to me after their previous agent kept telling them:
“Let’s just sweeten the deal so we don’t lose the buyer.”
The seller had already reduced the price, offered closing credits, and agreed to several repairs.
Yet the buyer kept asking for more.
At some point, you have to ask:
Who is the Realtor really negotiating for?
—
What We Did Instead
When we took over the listing, we did three simple things:
✔ Reset the negotiation — no more unnecessary concessions
✔ Repositioned the home with stronger marketing
✔ Set clear boundaries for buyers and agents
Within weeks, the property attracted a new buyer who respected the value of the home.
No endless concessions.
No pressure tactics.
Just a fair deal for the seller.

What Sellers Should Do If This Happens
If you feel like your Realtor is pushing you to “just accept the deal,” take a step back.
Ask yourself:
• Is my agent listening to my concerns?
• Are they strategizing, or just reacting to buyers?
• Do they have a plan to attract new buyers if this one walks away?
A strong Realtor never fears losing the wrong buyer.

The Truth
Sometimes the best move in negotiation is being willing to walk away.
The right buyer will come.
And the right Realtor knows the difference between protecting the deal and protecting the seller.
