A Wind Advisory is in effect for all of us until 7PM with a Fire Weather Warning southwest of Houston from the Colorado River all the way to Mexico. This is not good. Hurricane Hunters just reached the eye of Melissa and found it is even stronger with 180 mph winds and the pressure down to 896 millibars. Only one hurricane on record has made landfall in the Atlantic basin with a pressure below 900 mb, and that was the Great Labor Day Hurricane of 1935 that hit the Florida Keys. We’ve never witnessed a hurricane of this magnitude make landfall on a mountainous island in the Caribbean. Lord, help. 🙏 🇯🇲
