Welcome to DIY Diary. Each entry covers a new home improvement project. Here, Los Angeles DIY expert Drew Michael Scott of @lonefoxhome turns his roommate Marie's tiny bathroom into a stylish home oasis.
In Part 3 of the series, after priming all the wood and walls, Scott prepared for his favorite part of the renovation: applying Concretta, a water-based plaster finish. He applied the material over the tiles, walls, shower, and shower floor, creating what he called a “no demo bathroom reno.” “It's basically like a cement and plaster mixture, and you can tint it to whatever color you want,” explains Scott, who applied it over the top of each surface. “This product sticks to it, and once it’s dried down and sealed, it’s completely waterproof.” He chose Westwood Beige, a warm taupe color, to resemble Venetian plaster.
Follow his journey as he completely transforms the space in just a few weeks and read more on his process at the link in our bio. Produced by @__laurenmarie__; directed by @segmutton and @elizalaycock; edited by @sara.rao; words by @megansarahj.

“If you want to know who @diplo is, just look at his house,” says Sara Nataf (@saranataf420), a creative powerhouse whose purview extends to all facets of Diplo’s world. She describes the home as a “heavenly stoner palace, where every nook and corner is meant to be a place where you can get inspired and create, or simply chill and contemplate.”
We gave interior designers @noznozawa, Kat Bell (@argyledesign.co), and Hema Persad (@sagradastudio) a photo of the same empty attic space—and then asked each of them to convert it into a home office in their particular style. Three artists, one canvas, each bringing something different to the space.

Today, we're traveling to the woodlands of the Pacific Northwest to tour Maxon House. Designed by Tom Kundig, owner of @olsonkundig, Maxon House is a modern home revolutionizing the work commute. Work/life balance is given new meaning in Kundig’s design–a fully detachable home office on wheels journeys across a functional rail track into the forest creating an innovative work-from-home setup. With no shortage of ingenious features, Maxon House is a marriage of form and function and a prime example of modernist design.
