Dopamine is the “reward chemical” that gives us pleasure when we do something we enjoy. Imbalance of this chemical can have major impacts on how we function so I just wanted to shed some light on the subject. You’re not crazy your dopamine levels may just be out of wack.

So intrusive thoughts have been a battle in my mind since I was about 12 years old. I have spent years of my life journaling out the darkest thoughts I had thinking they were some kind of split personality I was hiding and drowning in any source of dopamine (alcohol,thc,
p🌽on) I could to escape my brain. Im sharing this in hopes someone can skip all the painful lessons I had along the way and let folks know they are not alone in this.

I’ve always struggled with this strange “survivors guilt” that comes with sober living. Mourning a version of yourself is strange, but human nonetheless.
