FEED Initiated for Okoro Further Field Development Program
Aug 28, 2013 - Afren and Amni, partners in the Okoro field in OML 112 off Nigeria, initiated front end engineering and design (FEED) for the fabrication of a new wellhead platform that will be required for the Okoro Further Field Development (FFD) program. The platform is to be a conventional 4-pile platform with a single piece jacket and deck capable housing wireline and coil tubing units. Additionally, the platform will be designed with 12 well slots able to support dual trees. Use of dual trees will enable the platform to support of to 24 wells. The FFD platform will be linked by a bridge to the main Okoro wellhead platform. Thought was also given to upgrading the existing floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel but that option proved to be infeasible. As such, the FPSO will be replaced by a new mobile offshore production unit (MOPU).
