H Town never disappoints! 1hour pursuit and couple hour standoff shuts Eastex freeway down

At approximately 12:45 a.m. on December 5th, 2025, officers with the Houston Police Department and firefighters from the Houston Fire Department responded to reports of a major traffic collision on the southbound lanes of Interstate 45, just north of downtown Houston.

Responding units located two heavily damaged vehicles, one stopped in the freeway lanes and another hanging over the left side of the roadway. Both drivers were trapped inside their vehicles upon arrival.

Officers were able to break a window and rescue the driver of a red vehicle that was high-centered on the concrete divider before fire crews arrived. Firefighters later extricated the second driver without incident.

Both drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries. According to police, a female driver was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, and investigators believe the crash involved a wrong-way driver.

The incident remains under investigation.

At approximately 11:20 p.m. on December 12th, 2025, deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to a major traffic collision along the North Freeway near Spring Cypress Road.

Investigators say a Ram 1500 attempted to exit the freeway at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control, left the roadway, and struck a light pole. The vehicle sustained severe damage.

The lone occupant was pronounced deceased at the scene. As the investigation continued, heavy fog moved into the area, further complicating conditions for first responders.

The crash remains under investigation. Additional details are expected to be released by authorities.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on December 9th, 2025, officers with the Houston Police Department and Houston Fire Department responded to reports of an auto versus pedestrian collision in the 3300 block of McGowen Street.

The call was upgraded after reports indicated a female pedestrian was trapped underneath a vehicle. Responding units arrived to find the woman down beneath a car following a chain-reaction crash involving multiple parked vehicles.

Preliminary information indicates a white Mercedes SUV traveling southeast on McGowen Street struck a parked vehicle, which then collided with another parked car, the pedestrian, and a fourth vehicle. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the Mercedes SUV was also transported to Ben Taub Hospital for medical evaluation. While speed is believed to be a possible factor, investigators have not yet determined whether impairment played a role. The identity of the deceased female had not been released as of the latest update.

The investigation remains ongoing.

At approximately 12:20 p.m. on December 9th, 2025, officers with the Riverside Police Department and Riverside Fire Department responded to reports of a stabbing on the sidewalk near Market Street and University Avenue in downtown Riverside.

When first responders arrived, they located an adult male suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim went into full cardiac arrest and was transported to a local hospital with CPR in progress, where he later died from his injuries. A knife was found on the sidewalk at the scene, and the suspect initially fled on foot.

According to information later released and reported by the Press-Enterprise, a suspect identified as John Larry Perryman III, 34, was arrested around 5:00 p.m., approximately two miles from the scene. He was booked on suspicion of murder and assault causing great bodily injury. Investigators stated the victim and suspect did not appear to know each other, and a motive remains under investigation. Perryman had an active warrant related to a prior assault case and has a documented criminal history in Riverside County. Formal charges in the stabbing case were still pending at the time of the report.

At approximately 2:55 p.m. on December 10th, 2025, Anaheim Police Department and Anaheim Fire and Rescue responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision at North Harbor Boulevard and West North Street.

Authorities stated that a solo vehicle jumped the curb and struck members of a cross country team from Anaheim High School while they were running. A total of nine people were transported, including eight students and the driver of the vehicle. The extent of the students’ injuries was not immediately released.

According to updated information from Anaheim Police Sergeant Matt Sutter, the driver is expected to be arrested for suspected DUI once cleared from the hospital. Surveillance video from a nearby business and a statement from a witness are included as part of the investigation.

The collision remains under investigation by Anaheim Police Department.

At approximately 11:00 p.m. on December 4th, 2025, Houston Police and Houston Fire Department crews responded to reports of a shooting in the 100 block of West Dyna Drive.

When officers arrived, they located a man in his 40s suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside a taco truck. Houston Fire Department personnel pronounced the man deceased at the scene.

According to investigators, the victim was a member of the family that owns the taco truck. Family members arrived at the scene after becoming concerned when he did not respond to calls while closing the truck for the night.

HPD homicide detectives believe the suspects are two Hispanic males wearing ski masks who fled the scene in a vehicle. Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects, and surveillance video from the area is being reviewed.

At approximately 5:20 a.m. on December 10th, 2025, LAPD officers responded to reports of a pedestrian struck near Kansas Avenue and Florence Avenue in South Los Angeles.

Officers arrived to find an adult male who was not conscious and not breathing after being struck while crossing Florence Avenue between Western Avenue and Normandie Avenue. A canopy was requested to the scene as firefighters with the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital. The victim’s current condition has not been confirmed.

According to police, the driver involved in the collision fled the scene in an unknown vehicle. LAPD South Traffic officers responded and are investigating the hit-and-run.

At approximately 10:10 a.m. on December 10th, 2025, the City of Riverside Fire Department responded to an apartment fire in the 2900 block of Canyon Crest Drive in Riverside.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire originating from the kitchen of an apartment unit. Crews conducted an aggressive fire attack along with a primary search and were able to keep the fire contained to the unit, preventing it from spreading to adjacent apartments.

During the incident, firefighters rescued a dog from the apartment; however, the animal later perished as a result of the fire. The affected apartment was deemed uninhabitable, and three adults were displaced. The Red Cross was requested to assist the displaced residents.

One civilian who attempted to extinguish the fire prior to firefighters’ arrival was evaluated on scene by paramedics. No firefighter injuries were reported. An arson investigator responded, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

At approximately 10:00 p.m. on December 9th, 2025, Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded to a reported fire at 1731 East Washington Boulevard near Downtown Los Angeles.

Firefighters arrived to find a large trash fire that had extended into a nearby commercial structure. Crews quickly deployed hose lines in an effort to stop the fire from spreading further into the building.

Officials confirmed the second floor of the structure housed a ma*****na grow operation. Firefighters were able to put water on the fire early, preventing further extension into the building.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

At approximately 12:00 a.m. on December 10th, 2025, Los Angeles County Fire Department crews responded to reports of a structure fire in the 11800 block of South New Hampshire Avenue in South Los Angeles.

Firefighters arrived and worked to contain the blaze as law enforcement secured the scene. Two people were transported to local hospitals, including one adult male from the fire-involved unit and one adult female from a separate unit within the complex.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, there were reports of a possible 415 disturbance prior to the fire breaking out. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.

A resident of the building, identified as Fernando, provided a statement that is included in the package.
