HOUSTON – (Jan. 24, 2021) – Its name sounds legendary, but the newly discovered insect Neuroterus (noo-ROH’-teh-rus) valhalla doesn’t look or act the part. It’s barely a millimeter long and spends 11 months of the year locked in a crypt.

Surprise! We are back on the air. Starting... now and every Tuesday from 3-5pm.

In 1978 he was music’s next big thing. Then his album bombed, he began a long slide into obscurity, and a bizarre fraud sent him to prison. Will Dane Donohue finally get his encore?

In 1972 he released the song that would propel him to international stardom: Soul Makossa.

Originally a B-side to the anthem for the Africa Cup of Nations football tournament, it is infectious - a monster jazz funk workout featuring Dibango's inimitable stuttering saxophone.

Soul Makossa, meaning "I will dance" in the Douala language, was a seminal track in the vanguard of the disco era, filling dance floors across the globe.

Manu Dibango, whose Soul Makossa filled New York dance floors, died this week at the age of 86.

It's World Contact Day (not what you think)!

Established in 1953, it is a mass meditation to send a telepathic message to aliens.

Canadian prog rock band Klaatu wrote "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft" in 1976, which was covered by The Carpenters in 1977. The hit song included 160 musicians and even hit #1 in Ireland.

Today, while you are hopefully at home, it's a great day to meditate and send a message 🧘‍♀️👽

"I Feel for You" was a smash for Chaka Khan in 1984. Five years earlier, it existed only as a solo demo by a 20-year-old Prince.
