We're so excited for the return of the Houston Hackathon! 🔥

Friday, September 5th is the kickoff from 12-4 PM at The Ion. Professionals and students of all skillsets are welcome to participate!

There will be an open mic for pitching challenges in our city, and then teams will form based on the challenge you want to help solve/hack!

The team will be capturing video footage, interviews, and sharing all the action on IG stories!

Hope you made it to the UH Hispanic Alumni Scholarship Workshop! If not, no worries, you can still apply for a scholarship through April 15th!

The Hispanic Alumni Scholarship is for students (or incoming students) of Hispanic Heritage enrolled at the University of Houston main campus in the 2025-2026 academic year.

- Complete online application
- No minimum GPA requirement
- Undergraduates must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours
- Graduates must be enrolled for a minimum of 9 credit hours
- DACA, Undocumented, & International students are eligible to apply!
- Students must be in good academic standing
- Two short essays are required: In one page, please detail your academic and career goals, and explain how receiving the UH Hispanic Alumni Association Scholarship will support your journey. Also, how do you envision making a meaningful contribution to the Hispanic community in the future?

Second, Describe a specific piece of advice or a lesson that you learned that has significantly influenced your academic and/or professional aspirations, whether it was a positive encouragement or a challenge you had to overcome. How has this guidance shaped your goals and motivated you to succeed?
